When we try to work inside of client's accountant's copies stored either on our client pc desktops or the servers, the file becomes corrupted and closes. Just started happening after the most recent QBs Update.

We received reports regarding users getting the same error message when working in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). A ticket has already been created and forwarded to our Product Engineers. They're now investigating and working to fix this issue as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, I suggest contacting our Phone Support team so they can add your details to our notification list. This will help our Engineers determine the number of affected users. An email will be sent to you once this has been resolved. I'll also inform you here when we get the update as well.

My colleague's recommendation to utilize our QuickBooks Tool Hub is going to be the best troubleshooting step to take in such a scenario. I'd be more than happy to go over some of the things it can be used to troubleshoot.

If your client's file remains corrupted/continues corrupting and closing when trying to work with it, you'll want to get in touch with our Customer Care Team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.

To Clarify, this is not a single file issue, it occurs whenever anyone in our firm opens an accountant's copy inside of a recently updated version of QuickBooks (regardless of whether the client's copy is updated before it's transferred to us). I believe there to be a glitch in the update itself disallowing any changes inside of an accountant's copy without receiving this error.

I’ve check here on my end and the ticket is already tag as closed. Since you’re still experiencing this issue, I recommend updating your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to the latest release.
This error is caused by QuickBooks 2020 and QuickBooks 2021 integration. Updating the program is the quick fix. Let me show you how:

I've updated repeatedly using the steps you've indicated and it still doesn't work consistently. Is it possible that our clients will need to update their QuickBooks on their end before generating the accountant's copy transfer file?
