qb help says that I have to re subscribe, what does this mean?  I tried to update my billing information and I cannot do it, my previous quickbooks was essentials with payroll online and I paid 110 a month, I cannot update billing information because I cannot get into it.  I have many questions.

Do I need to purchase a new plan now, I cannot find essentials to reactivate my old account.

If I purchase the qb plus does my current plan data transfer to the new plan.

Do I have to use a debit or credit card, can I pay with a checking account.  I see the rate is much lower than what I was paying, plus is 45 dollars a month, and payroll another 20 dollars.  I am so confused, I did not think QuickBooks would suspend and place my account on hold because of their so-called billing cycle, they cut me off just like that without any notification.  I was extremely upset because I am not able to do payroll or prepare monthly financial statements.  I don't have a debit/credit card, is there another way to pay for this, if I knew that this would be so much trouble, I would have gone into a different direction.  I am rather frustrated with QuickBooks and the way they handled my account.  Anyone out there has any advice for me.

You said you don't have a credit card or debit card. Who first signup for your account? You or someone else?

If you are signing up for a new QBO account, you will get a blank account.

I'm sad to hear about the issue you're experiencing with handling your account in QuickBooks, @deal1tc.

It can be incredibly challenging when you encounter difficulties with billing and account access, especially when it affects your ability to perform essential tasks like payroll and financial statement preparation. Rest assured, I'll help you get back on track.

In QuickBooks, resubscribing to or reactivating is the process of renewing your plan after it has expired or been deactivated. This typically involves signing up for a new subscription or reactivating your previous plan to regain access to the features and functionality of QuickBooks Online. For more details, you can check out this resource: Resubscribe to or reactivate QuickBooks Online.

If your account becomes inactive and you want to resubscribe, you have to use the same payment method and billing frequency you had on your previous subscription. You can switch to a different payment method and billing frequency after resubscribing.

If you're receiving an error message or are unable to update your billing details, use a different or private browser to view your account. You can use any of these shortcut keys to access one:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Next, reactivate again your subscription. Once it's successful, return to your usual browser and clear its cache. This is done to speed up the process the next time you do a transaction in QuickBooks. Also, an alternative way is to use other compatible browsers.

If you decide to purchase the QuickBooks Plus plan, it is unlikely that your current plan's data will be transferred to the new one. As what  4Gal mentioned you will have a blank account when you sign up for a new QBO account.

It is recommended to use a credit or debit card as your preferred payment method for QuickBooks Online subscriptions. Accepted cards include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. PayPal and Automated Clearing House (ACH) bank transfers are also acceptable forms of payment.

You can also review the following articles to help you in the future. It will help you navigate through various aspects of your QBO features, and subscription, such as billing, plan upgrades, and account management:

Keep me posted if you have additional queries about handling your billing and subscription in QBO. I'll be around to help you always. Stay safe!

I am stunned that Intuit renewed my subscription without my authorization or knowledge.

This is a new practice this year and I was not going to renew as my husband has retired and I no longer need the software.  Please refund me the amount you billed me which, by the way, is outrageously expensive.

I understand that you no longer need the product, @nanbo. While we're unable to check your account in this public forum, I'd like to route you to the support available to handle your refund concern.

To sort this out immediately, I recommend reaching out and speaking with our Customer Care Team for clarifications about processing a refund request for subscription renewal. They're the best resource for such inquiries, as they can request account details to pull up your company and share sensitive information, which we're unable to perform here in the Community.

In addition to this, you may read this reference to understand how we are keeping your account information if you proceed with canceling your subscription: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription or trial.

Feel free to get back here in the Community if you have more questions about deactivating your QBO account. I'd be glad to assist you further. Stay safe!
