Printing Issues

Kristine Mae - - As per your email went Incognito and in trying to print out the instructions for Chrome and E shut down unexpectedly.  Same issue.  I did clear the cookies and did no good in QB and printing issues.

I think is a print driver issue.  Recently undated to NPIA3B2D2 (HP Color LeasterJet MIP M277dw).  I gone to HP web site it this is the new drive download file for my printer.   Help.  Cannot continue using QB when I have to try to ptint one item 4-6 times for QB to print.  The issue is that Chrome shut down unexpecttively.

I really appreciate your help and solution.  I did have to re-setup my checks to print correctly but this was minor compared to not being able to print with one pass instead of 4-6 tries.

Do the paychecks have to be accompanied by a w-2 for deposit into the bank

Hi there, zachryiixixiiwood.

There's no need to accompany a W2 when issuing paycheck or depositing a paycheck to the employee's account.

Instead, you submit the tax form to the Social Security Administration or to the state agencies that requires it.

You can check out these articles for more details:

Hi Sanya.

I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the printing issue you had with QuickBooks. I'm here to share with you the additional troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue in no time.

First, let's make sure that your QuickBooks Desktop is updated to the latest release to have the latest available features and fixes. Also, your computer must be connected to the printer and that the printer software is installed.

Once done, test your printer if it can print outside of QuickBooks.

  1. Select Start and browse to Notepad.
  2. Enter some text and choose File, then Print.
  3. Select the correct printer and select Print.

If printing works outside of QuickBooks, you can use the Print & PDF Repair Tool from the QuickBooks Tool Hub to fix the most common printing issues. You can open this article as your guide: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.

If none of the solutions work for you, I recommend following the next solutions from this link: Resolve printing issues.

For more hints about sorting out printing errors, you can also check out these articles:

Moreover, please feel free to open the topics from our help articles for more resources while working with QuickBooks in the future.

Please keep in touch if you need more help with printing your transactions or forms. I'm determined to get this fixed for you. Have a great day!

Printing Issues

I use Quickbooks online on MAC OS with a HP printer. I never had any problems with printing before then suddenly the print was blurry and the pages exceeded any margins that normally were not an issue. I've tested the printer and it is working perfectly on everything else. Please help. Thank you.

I am also having printing issues with Quickbooks Online and my Mac. to print a paycheck today which I normally do as 3 business checks on a page, I had to attach each check to a check later taxi and print each as a Voucher check.

The text is smaller than it used to be and no matter what I do with the print set up, I can not get it to print correctly. I am very tired of printing these checks singly or by hand.

Hello cjhastings,

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! Let's start by removing third-party PDF plug-ins (including Adobe's own plug-in) because this assists with troubleshooting printing issues. This allows Safari's own internal PDF viewer to take over as the browser's default PDF handler. Here's how:

  1.  End Safari and open a new Finder window. Choose the Go menu and select Go To Folder.
  2. Type the following in the field: /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/.
  3. If there are plugins named PDF Browser Plugin.pluginAdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin, or AdobePDFPDE.plugin, move them to the trash or somewhere else on your system. You may need to enter your password to authorize the removal.
  4. Re-open Safari and sign in to QuickBooks Online.
  5. Try to print the information once more.

If the issue persists, I encourage you to connect with our Support Team to verify the settings and perform other tests through screensharing. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Hit the Contact Us button
  3. Enter "callback" in the "What can we help you with?" section.
  4. Select "Let's Talk"
  5. Pick the "Get a call" option to connect with us.

The Community and I have your back, so please let me know if you need any additional assistance. I hope you enjoy your day. Be safe and take care.

For two payrolls now QuickBooks Online will not print pay stubs for direct deposit.  You hit the button and nothing happens.  Luckily it does print paychecks.  Is there a fix for this?

Printing Issues

I regret to hear that you're experiencing issues with QuickBooks Online not printing pay stubs for direct deposit. Let me share some troubleshooting steps to resolve this.

You may have accumulated too much historical data. Whenever you visit a website, it saves some information from the web page in its cache and cookies. These files allow the websites you visit most often to load faster. Not to worry, clearing them will do the trick.

First, let's try accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

  • Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Shift + N

If it works, switch back to your regular browser. Then, clear its cache. This way, you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also use a different supported one.

Moreover, some web browsers have built-in pop-up blockers that may prevent the pay stubs from opening. Disable any pop-up blockers temporarily and try printing the pay stubs again. Follow:

If you're getting the same result, refer to this article for other troubleshooting steps: Fix Printing Issues.

Feel free to drop me a reply below if you have additional concerns. I'm determined to ensure your success.

Like i said it prints one but not the other, i cleared the history, cookies etc.   it’s not that.  It’s also a persistent problem.  None of those suggestions fixed the problem.

I understand that having a seamless experience is crucial for our users. Allow me to share additional insights to help rectify this issue.

Since the issue persists after performing some browser troubleshooting steps, you'll want to consider turning off the pop-up blockers from the website and ensure to add Intuit as a trusted site to prevent your browser from potentially blocking the site content.

To guide you with its detailed steps, you can check out this article: Troubleshoot printing paychecks, pay stubs, and forms in QuickBooks Online Payroll.

However, if the same thing happens, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. They have the necessary tools to review your account and provide further steps to help resolve this issue.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. In your QBO account, click Help.
  2. Click the Search tab, and click Contact Us.
  3. Enter the error message in the description box, and select Continue.
  4. Start a chat with a support expert.

Moreover, you can run specific payroll reports to help you review your business finances and other accounting data.

We'll always be around whenever you need additional assistance printing your paystubs. Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have further concerns. Keep safe!

This happened after the update.  It would be helpful if you trouble shoot the issue yourself to see if it was happening systematically.  Since the other print button works correctly, I would say this is probably a software problem and you should turn it in to be addressed instead of telling me to waste three hours calling a terrible customer service that provides the exact same computer generated help that you provided.  For the prices that Intuit is charging, Intuit needs to step up its customer service.
