Hello there, @rdhd0819.
I'll clarify the details about QuickBooks' discontinuation policy and share with you the features in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2022.
With the launch of QBDT 2022, some features are discontinued (Loan Manager, Scan Manager, Cash Flow Projector, and Import from QuickBooks Pro Timer). However, time entry is still one of the offered ones in the new version. All you need to do is enable it through the Preferences window. Here's how:
To learn more about how to use the time tracking feature in QBDT, please see this article: Set up time tracking.
On the other hand, yes, it's true that in 11 days (after May 31, 2022), access to add-on services (i.e., payroll and online banking) will be discontinued. However, it'll only be implemented on the products affected by service discontinuation (i.e., QBDT 2019).
You can find more details about the service discontinuation policy here: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy and upgrade information.
I hear your sentiments about moving to QuickBooks Online (QBO). If you'll consider migrating to QBO, you're allowed one company per subscription. For your second and third businesses, you'll have to sign up for a new account. For the full list of QBO plans and pricing, check out this page: Find the right QuickBooks Online plan for you.
You may upgrade your current QBDT version to a newer one if you opt to stay on QBDT. To help you choose the QBDT version that's right for you, please refer to this page: Choose your QuickBooks Desktop product.
Also, I would encourage you to check out the articles below if you may want to learn what's new in QBDT 2022 and know more about the different QuickBooks products and versions:
Keep me posted if there's anything else you need or clarifications about the features and discontinuation policy in QBDT. I'm always ready to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @rdhd0819.
I also have Quickbooks installed on 3 computers. Can I install the new 2022 Pro Plus on all three like I have it now?
Yes, you can @rdhd0819.
You'll want to consider setting up a multi-user network for your QuickBooks Pro Plus. This way, all the computers on your network can access your company files. Let me guide you how.
Please refer to this article for the detailed steps: Set up and install a multi-user network for QuickBooks Desktop.
With the above recommendation, you're able to install QuickBooks 2022 Pro Plus on all of your computers, and your users can access your company file at the same time.
I'm also adding this link in case you need help with other QuickBooks-related tasks. It has our general QuickBooks topics with articles: View all help for QuickBooks Desktop.
Please let me know if you have follow-up questions or concerns with QuickBooks installation. I'm more than happy to assist you. Take care and have a great day ahead.
@rdhd0819 wrote:I also use bank feed and about 50% of my clients pay their invoices electronically. I signed up for billpay.com as an alternative but I just found out that not only will payments be disabled in 11 days, so will the bank feed! Is this really true?
Bank feeds, 3rd party integrations, and other online services will be disabled after May 31. You can still purchase the one time license for QBD 2021 to upgrade your version as another option.

I can help you turn off pop-up messages in QuickBooks Desktop, @Anonymous.
The notices serve as a helpful reminder on the system about the discontinuation of QuickBooks Desktop 2019. Here's how to turn off product and service pop-ups:

I know online banking connection has been discontinued for QB 2019 Desktop for Mac. But shouldn't manual .qbo files downloaded from my bank manually still be importable? Getting a "contact your financial institution" error message. Thanks.
Unfortunately, importing *.qbo files is part of the bank feed feature.
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I'm sure there is a good reason why support for that feature had to be discontinued. ;)
I use QB just to reconcile and track my business and home books (no invoicing, etc.) so I'll be switching to a cheaper or free software.
Thanks, again.
We have yet to find any decent replacements for QBD Pro/Premier/Mac. One cloud based app offers a free plan for businesses with revenue <50K USD per annum. Once you need more features, you can upgrade to the higher plan later.
The latest Windows 10 update that installed 6/17 made QBD 2019 no longer compatible with Windows 10 thereby forcing users to "upgrade" to the Intuit subscription product in order to open a company file in QBDT 2019 (even though one does not use any of the internet-based QB services). Unreal! And what a coincidence that this happened only days after Intuit ceased supporting QBDT 2019.... Can you spell collusion?
Try to reinstall your QBD 2019. Half of our team is still running multi outdated QB Desktop year versions (ie 2019 or older) until now on Win 10 21H2 19044
I just want to let the community know that Bank Feeds were not disabled. I bought the 2022 Desktop Pro Plus license but before I could migrate one of my company files, I was able to log into Bank Feeds.
I was able to log into Bank Feeds in one of my company files on Friday, June 17, 2022. I didn't intend to but I got so busy that I forgot to upgrade the company file before I logged in to download transactions as part of my daily routine and it worked fine. I've never used the Online Banking/Bill Pay feature in Quickbooks but I see a lot of language blending Bank Feeds and Online Banking. They are two very different services. I have a really old version of Quicken (2012 I believe) and I am still able to connect bank feeds. So, I'm wondering if it was the Bill Pay/Online Banking feature that was disabled and not Bank Feeds.
Hello there, rdhd0819.
I see that you've been facing these challenges for a couple of days. I want to make sure you'll be given the right support and instruction on how you can get this resolved as soon as possible. Normally, you should be able to log in or connect bank feed and utilize the Online Banking feature after migrating your data.
One thing that we'll have to do is to always have the latest features and fixes by updating QuickBooks to the latest release. Since the issue persists, I'd recommend contacting our Support Team to figure out the reason why it's happening on your end. They have available tools that can help us check the root cause of the issue.
After conducting further investigation, they can provide you with correct instructions on how to resolve this. Here's how:
You can review the available time when you can contact our Support Team: Support Hours.
QuickBooks Desktop 2022 has a number of new features that will help you automate and streamline your accounting tasks. Check this article for more details: What’s new in QuickBooks Desktop 2022.
Keep us informed on how the call goes by going back to this thread. I want to make sure everything from your bank feed is fixed, rdhd0819. Bye for now and take care.
It appears that Intuit and Windows have colluded (?) so that if one does not pay for the new subscription service (2022), the 2019 QucikBooks Desktop Pro will not function because the Windows updates that were installed on 6/17/22 make Windows 10 no longer compatible with the older version of QB. As a consumer and user of the product, I don't even have the option to keep using my existing QB version (2019) without the support, and I now cannot access my QB data on my own computer!
As long as IE 11 is enabled on your machine, you can still run QBD 2019 on Win 10 like we did until now.
Scratch this - when I typed it, it wasn’t showing all the replies after May 22.
You’ve probably already figured this out, but you can now purchase an annual subscription for your desktop version, it’s still an exorbitant rate of about $350, but better than $1000. I’m unsure if you can keep three company files in it, like in the past, that’s what I’m on this blog looking around for answers to.
I received the same email.
I have QB 2019 Accountant Edition and I cant download any transactions.
It says it is now longer supported and i have to upgrade to 2021.
You have to use a 3rd party tool to import bank/credit card statements. Otherwise, you can still purchase the one time license for QBD 2021 or 2022 Accountant edition to upgrade your outdated version.
I tried to input some receipts and was locked out of my QB 2019 desktop version. I am a single user and use it to print invoices and payments only. I was unable to access my confidential client information. I understand that 2019 is no longer supported, but I have no idea how they accessed my computer and blocked me from using my deskstop version. This was very stressful and I was not notified that I would be unable to use my desktop version. I don;t use the support services. Is this even legal what they did? Access a personal computer and alter my ability to use it? Linda
This is strange behavior, Linda.
You can still access your company file in QuickBooks Desktop 2019 even if it's no longer supported. We won't lock your account to have you upgrade to the latest version.
Did you encounter any error messages before getting locked out? If so, I encourage sharing a screenshot.
Otherwise, you're password could be expired. It's the reason you're locked out. Let's use the Automated Password Reset Tools to resolve this. Here's how:
For more details, please see this article: Use the Automated Password Reset Tool for QuickBooks Desktop.
Once done, you might want to access your company file without entering your login credentials. This article will help you achieve this: Stay Logged into QuickBooks Without Entering your Username and Password.
Additionally, I've added these articles that'll help fix common program-related issues:
Please keep us posted if you need more help with opening the program. I'd be more than willing to assist you. Keep safe!
do you have a new number for support for accessing 2019 files? [Removed] is no longer in service.
QB, without my permission, upgraded all my 2019 desktop files to 2022 and I can't access any of them. I only need to review my 2019 P&L as I retired and will not be in business any longer. I tried to install a qbb file my bookkeeper sent me prior to their upgrade, but when I opened it as a restore file, they also upgrated that. so it is not accessible.
No worries, I’ll make sure you’re able to review your 2019 profit and Loss statement, @654074119.
