Hello,
I am in need of assistance in setting up email for QB 2021 with a new Mac (purchased 3 weeks) ago. All software is current and up to date for both QB and my Mac.
I was able to email an invoice (confirmed recipient received) this past Monday via the Share button on the Invoice page and now I receive the message, " Your email application is not supported with this version of QuickBooks. To use this feature you must have Mail or Outlook set as your default email application."
Please help. Thanks!

Thank you Rasa! That worked!
I, too, am having issues emailing directly through QB Desktop 2021 for MAC. I went through your instructions to ensure my email preferences were as you stated they needed to be set. That is how they were already set up in my email app. I then went to the link you provided "Connect and track Emails..." to see if there was anything there that could help. I went through the instructions for "Connect Your Email Through QuickBooks". It's stated in step 3 "From Send Emails Using, select Custom." Unfortunately, selecting "Custom" is not an available option (See attached screenshot). I'm prompted with: "For sending emails you can choose to have QuickBooks: "Send using your default email handling application" OR "Send directly out of QuickBooks using your Email Account"
Preferably, I'd like to email directly through QuickBooks to eliminate having to email through my email app. I have also made sure I am directing QuickBooks to the correct servers to my email host. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for joining us in this thread, Home_Style.
I appreciate you providing such detailed information as well as a screenshot.

Thank you for responding. I was using the OS you mentioned when trying to email invoices through QB. I've updated to Big Sur this past week after I submitted my issue on the forum. I have been and still am up to date on QB for Mac. I'm still not able to send through the system, though. Any next steps to resolve is appreciated.
I'm grateful for the details that you gave, @Home_Style.

After repeatedly performing these suggestions Microsoft Outlook Version 16.61 with MacOS Monterrey 12.3.1 all being up to date along with Quickbooks Desktop for Mac 2021 up to date as well it will still do nothing when I select to email. It used to work fine before MS updated to this "New Outlook" updated look. The old school not so modern interface version worked. Please look into, if i revert back to the legacy interface it works again but then Outlook search doesn't work. Thanks for any help you can give
I'd love to direct you to the best help available so this gets taken care of, @jkfcb01.
