Hello,
Some of our QB users are reporting that QB freezes when trying to print PDFs from a specific company file.
I have tried running the quickbooks tool hub to resolve the printing issues, but it made no difference.
other company files seem to be fine. This apparently started a couple of days ago.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Kind Regards
Jack
Hi, Jlindsay.
Thanks for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community. First I wanna say, you did a great job on troubleshooting so far. I have a couple of tips that will assist in getting this resolved.
When running the QuickBooks Tool Hub each tab is related to a specific problem. I understand you may have run the PDF Print and Repair tool. Have you tried running the Install Diagnostic Tool, as well? If after running that tool, you're still experiencing crashes when certain users are printing, I would urge you to use this article: Unrecoverable Error in QuickBooks.
I've always found that article as a great help to me to resolving errors. Please let me know how it works for you and if you need any assistance. I'm only a reply away.
I have QB Desktop Accountant 2020 and I just started having the same problem with pdfs this week. I can open my quarterly payroll forms fine. They open as pdfs, but when I go to print them--nothing happens and then I realized that after I do this, NONE of my other pdfs will open, even outside of QB. --It's as if QB crashes the Adobe Reader software. I can fix this by saving the payroll forms as a pdf and then restart my computer--then I can print the pdf. I, too, have run the QB tool hub (all available options), and still no fix. I can work around this for now, but W-2s in January will be a nightmare if this doesn't get fixed. Please help

Jack, ...any luck resolving your pdf issue? I'm having the exact same problem. It just started last week. My payroll forms create in pdf fine, but they won't print and they "lock-up" my ability to open other pdfs. I have to restart the computer to be able to open pdfs again. I've tried the tool hub, but no fix.

I use Quickbooks online on MAC OS with a HP printer. I never had any problems with printing before then suddenly the print was blurry and the pages exceeded any margins that normally were not an issue. I've tested the printer and it is working perfectly on everything else. Please help. Thank you.
Thanks for joining the thread, @Ben23_1.
Allow me to share some troubleshooting steps that would help you fix your printing issues in QuickBooks Online (QBO). That way, you can get back to your business.
If the print is unclear, it's possible that your print settings may be set to a low resolution. Increasing the resolution fixes this problem. Here's how:
For the alignment issue, you can change your page scaling to achieve a better fit. Simply adjust your printing setup and alignment settings in QBO.
If you're still getting a similar result, follow the rest of the steps in this article: Fix common printing problems when using Safari in Mac OS.
