I went around that route after being pushed into the Enterprise told it had "payroll" only to not be able to get the Enhanced Support aka the simple link to FILE!!!!!!!!!!! When I switched the last run of payroll had random credits!!!! Many tears phone calls and some knowledgably helping some referring to data sheets, messing even more up. Who actually knows at this point what is up and down. This is costing a fortune in accounting fees to figure out their mistake. No-one was ever able to tell me what or where to post the credits. There is no middle ground for small businesses. This is absolutely shameless!!!!! You can't even add for a fee the enhanced to the Enterprise. I got totally F..... We all did....

  It is not "user-friendly" to keep sending me pop-ups.    If you folks are smart enough to figure out how to make the pop-ups keep happening, you're smart enough to tell me how to turn them off.  I do not need constant reminders that I have chosen not to upgrade.   They will not change my mind.  Make the pop-ups stop.

I just got an interesting email from Software Discount USA.c o m,

they have a Quickbooks Pro Plus - Lifetime License Key ** NO SUBSCRIPTION ** on sale over the 4th of July week.  they say it is a perpetual License with no subscription ever needed. it does say that payroll is not included.

The Price is decent...$324.98

i am a bit sceptical... and i can find no where to verify what features/functions (inventory, Sales Orders, etc) it offers. they are also offering the Enterprise Version for the Same Price.  And many of the bullet points are from on-line/subscription versions.

I visited their website and it was very easy to conclude that they are just a scammer.

Reason?

1. Only scammers offer QB Desktop 2024 with non subscription licenses

2. QB Desktop Pro Plus is only for up to 3 users. They offer a 5 users license.

3. They didn't put the product description correctly. GST/HST EFILE to the CRA2: Save time, paper, and stamps by sending your GST/HST forms electronically to the CRA with just a few clicks.

You should purchase a legit license from a reputable partner. Otherwise, Intuit may deactivate your license anytime.

I know i have purchased Intuit products from them before that worked... but yes there are a lot of red flags on this listing.

From inside my QB Premier 2021 Desktop v i just got linked to this message... created by Intuit 1week ago... which i must say is a bit confusing as they linked to QB Desktop Premier in the #tags... the article suggests that there still is a 2024 desktop version available. Of all the tags linked to this post Only One had the "Plus" which i think equals Subscription.

I was scammed by a phone call saying they were Intuit - offered me a 3 year Desktop version for $525.00 - it was only after I purchased it and continued to get messages from Intuit I needed to update that I found out I didn't own the license.  Needless to say I immediately disputed the charge with my credit card company - be very careful.  I'm super suspicious and fell for their sales pitch.  It all seemed legit I was dealing with Intuit.

I was trying to use Quickbooks 2021 and was forced to upgrade. Quickbooks basically locked me out of my own company data. I was using Quickbooks Desktop. It's now telling me I have 7 days or it's going to lock me out of my own data again. Currently Quickbooks 2022 Pro Plus. The "Plus" means intuit can lock you out of your own data.

When I purchase a desktop software, that stores my information locally, on my personal property, it should unlawful to keep me from it. It should be considered trespassing on private property in my opinion.

You can convert your data from QB Online to QB Desktop and use the trial version for good to access your historical data. Then start your data in a new app from scratch to lower your conversion cost.

However, the Password Security in QuickBooks Desktop can't be stopped that is designed to protect your important data such as your Social Security Number, Company EIN, Bank Information (Routing Number, Account Number), or Vendor Tax ID. Changing it every 90 days helps your file to be more protected.

You all know this is not what I'm talking about. I don't know why I'm even replying, I'm probably talking to bots.

I get locked out of my local data for not renewing an online subscription. What if I'm someplace that has no internet connection. Ridiculous.

This is nonsense.   All the new subscription plans charge per company file, which is like a 2000% price increase for our business.  If I have to pay that much, I'll just switch products.   Crazy.

One QB Online account is for one company file. You can manage multiple company files with QB Desktop

I had a call with Intuit support today and they informed me that there is absolutely no cheaper option other than the $650 renewal. 

They told me that my file will not even be accessible by my accountant. I knew it wasn't the person's fault but it seems like this should be illegal to hold people hostage by their data and then charge a ransom to allow them to access it.

You can renew your license via Fiat Lux and you can get $100 cashback. If you don't need to run any add-ons (e.g Enhanced Payroll, QB Payment), they may have another option to compare.

You cannot download bank transactions.
