I'll guide you on upgrading the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Premier and continue integrating it with your payroll subscription.
First off, you'll need to contact our sales team to buy the QBDT Premiere 2024 subscription. You can locate the contact info in the upper right corner of the Community page with the For Sales: number.
Once done, let's start upgrading. When opening QBDT, a message will show on the screen stating that there's a new version of QBDT. By following the instructions given, you can easily upgrade your subscription.
Here's how:
- When the message shows up, click Upgrade now.
- Pick Let's go to download, install, and activate the new QuickBooks version for you and update your company files.
- Select Open QuickBooks when it's done upgrading. Please know that the upgrade duration will based on your internet speed and company file size.
If the upgrade QuickBooks subscription prompt message isn't visible, we can bring back all one-time reminders in the Preferences section.
Feel free to follow these steps:
- From the Edit tab, click Preferences.
- In the General tab, select My Preferences. Then, tap Bringf back all one-time messages and OK.
- Close your QuickBooks and open it. A prompt message will show on the screen to upgrade your subscription and perform the steps above.

After upgrading QBDT, reactivate your payroll subscription in the upgraded subscription by re-entering its service key.
