QuickBooks POS Freezes During Sales

My Quickbooks POS System freezes sometimes while I am taking a sale, and I have to force close the whole program, which means that the payment made during the freeze is reversed. We are open about 12 hours during the day and at our peak make around 150-300 sales, depending. I have been having this issue ever since we re-inventoried every product on the latest updated Quickbooks about 6 months ago, before that we had been using Quickbooks at the same capacity for years. I know it is specifically a Quickbooks issue because I always check if I can run other programs on the computer well during the freeze, and I can. We currently have Quickbooks Desktop Point of Sale 18.0, Pro Level, Release v18 R14. I have tried around 5 times calling Quickbooks Internal Accounting Services to get it fixed, however every time they just run a malicious software remover and call it a day, and it fixes nothing. Is there anything I could try to fix this?

We have an ongoing issue for the exact situation you mentioned above. I suggest contacting our Technical Support team for assistance. They can add you to the list of our affected users, and this way, you'll receive a notification email whenever an update becomes available. QuickBooks POS Freezes During Sales

I am having the same problem.  The pos freezes when a certain cr or db card is run.  I have to reboot the system with customers standing around, which takes about four minutes.

I know this sounds dumb.....

But make sure you hit debit credit before the customer puts in their card.  Yes, if they put it in first, it will decline it and every card you run after that until you restart POS.  or you can 'reconnect the pin pad', but that takes just as long.

Make them pull it all the way and then hit the debit credit and breathe and then enter their card.

Don't confuse the system!

QuickBooks POS Freezes During Sales

This is still an ongoing issue!  Happens everyday!  Customers must gently insert the card all the way, there is not a “click’. I would guesstimate 10% of all sales get stuck and require a pin pad reconnect.
