RECEIPT MANAGEMENT

I have multiple companies that i run on Quickbooks Desktop Pro Plus.

How do i use receipt management for all three? When i downloaded the app needed but i can not find out where to change the companies for the receipts.

Let me share some information about how the QBDT Receipt Management mobile app works.

 

Since you have multiple companies, you may need to sign out your Intuit account by tapping your profile and selecting Sign Out. This way, you'll be able to switch to other companies. Once done, follow the steps below to upload your receipts using an iOS device:

 

  1. From the QuickBooks Desktop app, sign in to your Intuit Account and select the company to upload receipts to.
  2. Tap the appropriate company, then select Continue.
  3. Choose Capture Receipt, then tap the Camera icon to take a picture of the receipt, or tap the Photos icon to upload your receipt. 
  4. Select Use this photo, then enter the file name and memo.
  5. Choose Upload photo, then hit OK.
  6. Sign in to your QuickBooks Desktop company file to review, edit, and match receipts to transactions.

Here's how to do it on an Android device:

 

  1. Open the QuickBooks Desktop Android app, then select Receipt Snap.
  2. Tap the appropriate company, then select Continue.
  3. Choose Capture Receipt, then tap the Camera icon to take a picture of the receipt, or tap the Photos icon to upload your receipt. 
  4. Select Use this photo, then enter the file name and memo.
  5. Choose Upload photo, then hit OK.
  6. Sign in to your Intuit Account again and select the appropriate QuickBooks company.

I actually have a similar question.  I am the administrator and having trouble getting the receipt management feature to show up on multiple companies within the Quickbooks Program, not the app.  I can see on the app feature that an employee can report receipts to multiple employers, but I cannot see a way to use the receipt management feature for the three companies I manage.  I have one company working, but when I click on the receipt management button under vendors in Quickbooks Premier Plus Contractor, the whole program shuts down.

 

Is there a fix for this?

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to get the Receipt Management feature working on the other company files, SCunningham. 

 

You'll want to ensure your QuickBooks is up to date with the latest features and improvements so you always have the latest features and fixes. Then, we can use the QuickBooks File Doctor to fix your company file since your QuickBooks Premier Plus Contractor shuts down when using the Receipt Management feature. Before diving, ensure to create a backup of your company file first. This way, we can restore your data if you ever run into problems.

 

Then, try uploading receipts into QuickBooks Desktop again. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Vendor menu and select Receipt Management.
  2. Choose the Intuit Account you use for the company file.
  3. Drag and drop your receipts into QuickBooks or select browse to upload, choose your receipts.

 

If the same thing happens, let's repair your software to fix any damaged components causing odd behavior when using QuickBooks. Just restart your computer first to close the programs that may affect the repair. When you're ready, here's how to repair the software:

  1. Open the Windows Start menu, then select Control Panel.
  2. Choose Programs and Features then Uninstall a Program.
  3. Select QuickBooks from the list, then click Uninstall/Change.
  4. Hit Continue or Next.
  5. Select Repair, then click Next.
  6. Once it's done, select Finish. Please know that you may have to restart your computer to complete the repair.
  7. Update your QuickBooks to the latest release to get the latest security update.

RECEIPT MANAGEMENT

I am having trouble with multiple companies being listed when I press the "Switch" button in receipt management on my iPhone app.  We only have one company, yet there are 4 companies listed.  Two are the same, listing the Full Company Name, another is listed as "Test" and the other is name.   I have captured receipts on all 4 of these company names, but only one emails the pictures to QB Desktop for review.  I called the helpdesk and was told to call the Quickbooks Online Bill Pay Group.  The person that answered the phone said that there was no support group for "Receipt Management".   The first question in this discussion thread asked about modifying the names of the Companies and was never answered.  I assume that they gave up due to the canned response.  QUESTION: Where does the feed for Company name come from and how can it be modified? I only want to remove all but the one company name selection that actually works when I try to upload a receipt to QB Desktop.

Let me provide additional information about how Receipt Management works in QuickBooks Desktop mobile app.

 

The company name that appears when uploading receipts is based on the Intuit account you're signed in to. To remove the company from your Intuit login, you may need to contact our QuickBooks Desktop Customer Care Team. They have the tools to pull up your account in a secured environment and help you with the process.

 

To reach them, here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu at the top.
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help
  3. Type Contact Us in the search box. Then, click on Contact Us at the bottom. 
  4. Select the way you wish to connect with support.

I did contact support and it was determined that this is the limitation of the QB Receipt management system.  There is no ability to add, change or remove "Companies" that are referenced in the iPhone (or android) tool .  BTW, I have called the support team three (3) times concerning this issue.  None to date have ever received a support call concerning the mobile phone Receipt Management tool.  Therefore, its not a widely used tool.  I can see why.
