Receipts fromPayPal are showing up as Payment Receipts for Invoices automatically. Why is this happening? A lot are wrong,when I look to Match in the Bank its a mess.

When I try to Match PayPal receipts to Sales Invoices, I get lists of these Payments instead of the Invoices I want to match the receipts to. Have I turned something on without realising it? It was not doing this before.

You might want to check the mapping settings, gem5.

 

The mapping can affect how your Paypal transactions sync with QuickBooks Online. To change this, follow these steps:

  1. From the left pane select Apps.
  2. Select Firm apps.
  3. Choose Settings from the Action drop-down.
  4. Select Edit in the App Settings section.

I appreciate you for trying the steps provided by my colleague above. I'd like to provide further details on why transactions from Paypal are getting matched incorrectly.

 

Connecting Paypal to QBO account has three ways, and each of them handles transactions differently. The steps shared by my colleague are applicable and will work in Sync with PayPal integration in QuickBooks. It could be the reason why we don't see the Firm apps in the Apps screen.

 

Going back to your main concern, QuickBooks uses details from Paypal and will depend on the information, and it's how QuickBooks determines what transactions matched to them. I see how important to record the receipts accurately and fix the mess right now.

 

We can correct them manually within the Banking page. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Banking or Transactions on the left panel.
  2. Select the Reviewed tab. Locate the receipts you want to unmatch.
  3. Under the Action column, select Undo. Doing it will make them recorded back to the For Review tab.

I still do not understand how or why QBO is Matching transactions by itself. This is a major issue, I should not have to undo all those incorrectly Matched by QBO & I certainly can’t have this keep happening. How can this be stopped? Because if it keeps happening, then it makes QBO’s connections pointless.

I'll provide a piece of information about how QuickBooks Online matches your Paypal transactions.

 

When you connect your Paypal to QuickBooks, it downloads your recent transactions. Then, QuickBooks will automatically match your transactions once it detects entries with a similar amount and details.

 

However, you'll have the option to ignore the match transactions that show from For Review tab. This way, you're able to stop those incorrectly matched by the system. That being said, I suggest using the find match option since the system is asking to agree to incorrect choices. This way, you can look for the same transactions to match the right one to avoid double entries.

 

Here's how:

 

1. Click the Banking menu at the left pane to get to the Banking page.

2. Locate the downloaded transaction that shows match in the For Review tab. Then, click it to expand the page.

3. Select Find other records to open the Match transactions window.

4. Choose the box to uncheck the recommended match.

5. Enter the correct date range in the From and To fields.

6. Choose the correct match and make sure the total matches the transaction downloaded from your bank.

7. Hit Save.

Thanks, I do know all these procedures, but none of them really address my issue, which is why QBO has done this in the first please, and is still doing it. As I now have literally hundreds of Matched transactions which are wrong and this is growing everyday.

If I have to manually undo these, then I will seriously be considering closing my QBO Account, as its just been too much trouble.

I will contact QB Support Team as you suggest, hopefully they can make sense of all this.
