Starting a new company

Hello everyone

I need help. We currently have a QBO Advanced subscription for our company but we are starting from 0 with another company. So our current company is no longer going to exist, I need to transfer all the information from my current company to the new one. They are two completely different companies with different QBO accounts.  I was reading and found that Chronobooks might be a good tool, I also read it was acquired by Intuit so I wanted to know if this was possible and if so what the best approach would be.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Starting a new company

Hello,

You can go to the Gear icon and select Online Backup.  That is the Chronobooks features that are now built into QBO Advanced.

Here is the article about how to copy 1 file to another.

Starting a new company

Hey Marshall,

Thank you for the quick response. After I do this backup, could I access it from a different QBO account and import it?  Our current company is going to disappear so I need al the information on it to be transferred into the new company. I don't  know if I am being clear about what I need to do. Please let me know if I need to explain it better.

Thank you!

Starting a new company

Yes, you can, @secheverri.

Ensure to have a blank company file before moving your old file. This way, you can access your file in a different QuickBooks Online (QBO) account after creating a backup copy.

Once done, you can now proceed to these steps in copying your file to your new company:

  1. Sign in to your old QBO account (Company A).
  2. Go to the Gear icon.
  3. Select Back up company.
  4. Click Copy from the menu
  5. Select New Copy.
  6. In the Copy from drop-down menu, select Company A. This is the company you're copying.
  7. From the As-of field, select the date and time of the backup you want to restore.
  8. In the Copy to drop-down menu, select your new QBO account (Company B) where you want to copy the file.
  9. Select Create copy. Then click Copy to confirm you want to overwrite Company B with a copy of Company A.

You can also check Step 2: Copy a QuickBooks Online Advanced company section in this article for more details about the process: Make a copy of your QuickBooks Online Advanced company (formerly ChronoBooks).
