Thank you. We could try. However mid of this week, QB 2012 was working on my computer with Windows 10 365.
Hi,
Thank you for the follow up.
Solution #1 has been tested without success.
I am afraid that calling the help desk wont help because they tell me QBPro 2012 is no longer supported and therefore dont want to hear my story. Can you please add me, and let me know when a solution is found?
Regards,
I was trying to connect my Square to QB. I found All of the prompts to be clear in linking the two accounts until I hit connect and received this message: Can not find or create an account for square tips. I used every item in the drop down boxes but still it would not go through. I then received an email saying that my square account is connected to Qb please advise
I'm here to help you out and fix the Square Tips error message, @Thall2201.
Are you trying to sync Square to your QuickBooks Online (QBO)? If so, it looks like the Square Tips setting is disabled in your Accounts and settings page. This is why you're encountering the error message.
To resolve it, you'll want to enable it:

The suggestions to modify the Everyone and Users permissions is on the right track....but you need to give permissions to the entire Intuit folder...not just the .exe files suggested. So, right click the C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit FOLDER and choose properties. This is where you choose Security then choose Edit, then Add the 'Everyone' user and give Full Control. Do the same with the 'Users' permissions After struggling with all other helps and hints, this worked for me. Hope this helps someone else too !!

Which QB Desktop year version and Windows OS do you have?
Can you open the sample file without any issue?
I've been dealing with this error for probably for years now. The solution thanks to your info is actually to disable the inheritance of permissions then give users group full permissions I also gave everyone group full permissions although that might not be needed. You can tweak and test the permissions as needed for your setup. The issue is when the option to enable the inheritance of permissions is selected even after you adjust the permissions for the users group it will revert it right back so you have to disable the inheritance this is key! This looks like an Intuit issue during the install of QuickBooks the application i setting the permissions wrong. Intuit is an India ran operation, the support and the developers are terrible! You get what you pay for when you outsource to India!
I been dealing with this error for probably for years now. Attached is a screen shot of the error I get this error 6 times and have to click ok 6 times before it goes away each time I open any company file! The solution thanks to your info is actually to disable the inheritance of the permissions under advanced then give the users group full permissions I also gave everyone group full permissions although that might not be needed. See attached screenshot showing the original permissions for the users group which is what is causing the issue! I also attached screenshots showing full permissions being granted to the users and to everyone group (everyone group likely not even needed). For more context in my case all my users are local administrators on their computer and this issue was still happening to all of them due to the bad permissions set on the users group by Intuit. This is a terrible company they have no clue what they are doing the US folks really need to step in.
