Hi katherinejoyceO,
There is no login or account signup features on the page you suggested in 1.
Is there a way to do this from my QBO account?
Thanks for coming back to the Community, robert-bodwe-gma.
I appreciate all your efforts in trying to correct your tax ID. Let me help ensure the correct one will show in your 1099 form.
Yes, you can edit the tax ID in your QuickBooks Online (QBO). We’ll have to open the Vendor Information window to accomplish this task.
Here’s how:
Once done, go back to the 1099 Wizard page to continue in processing the tax form. These resources will guide you on how to correct 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC forms. Also, you’ll learn about adding or changing an amount when creating the tax forms.
Additionally, this reference contains topics to get you ready in processing your 1099s: Top 5 Questions: 1099s. It includes answers to common questions as well as screenshots and videos for visual reference.

It is not my contractor's Tax ID that I am trying to get to show up correctly. It is my EIN. Here is what I did.
1. I tapped the Taxes menu on the the left panel to choose 1099 filings
2. I tapped Continue your 1099s.
There is are five circles on the left panel:
1. Company
2. Accounts
3. Contractors
4. Review
5. File
I enter all the correct info in 1 and hit next. I click all the appropriate payments in 2 and hit next. The vendors show up in 3, everything is correct, I hit next. It shows me the window "Check that the payments add up." They do so I click Finish preparing 1099s. In 5 it says "Your 1099s are ready for file." I click "Continue to e-file." Next window says E-file your 1099s and has my contractors to check mark for e-file. To the right of each contractor's name, there is a button that says Preview PDF. I click it. All the info looks good except Payer's TIN. It shows the last three numbers YXZ when it should be XYZ.
I believe that the problem arose because I mistakenly entered our EIN the first time I entered it and didn't notice that I made the mistake until I got to the PDF preview and then I went back and changed it in circle 1 Company. It didn't change the numbers on the PDF preview thought. I messed around to see if it was updating anything. It is. For example, I added dots after P and O in PO Box and it changed the PDF preview from PO Box to P.O. Box. It just won't show the correct last for of EIN. I understand that the system will have to insert the actual EIN from the system when it creates the PDF for E-filing and to mail to my contractors, but will it be right if it is not showing up on the PDF preview?
Thanks for getting back to us, robert-bodwe-gma.
I appreciate everything you've done to show up your EIN correctly in your 1099 form.
Allow me to step in and guide you with some basic trouble shooting steps to isolate the issue.
Unexpected behaviors or errors in QBO are usually caused by the stored files in your browser. If the cache is holding too much data, it can affect the browsing performance that can cause an error.
In this case, I suggest logging in to your account using a private browser. This mode will not save any history, making it a great place to identify browser issues.
To open private browsing:
If it works, you'll need to go back to your usual browser and clear the cache. So, it will speed up your overall browsing experience and help fix these issues. Using other supported browsers is a good alternative too.
