How can I upload a back up file from my Accountant who used a newer version of Quickbooks? I use Quickbooks 2019 Pro.
Hello there, @JimNDens. I'm here to guide you in uploading an accountant's copy of your file.
Sending a copy of your company file to your accountant so they can review your books is a breeze. Before proceeding to the steps, allow me to provide information on how you can do it since your accountant uses a new version.
When sending an Accountant's Copy, we have to ensure that the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) versions are compatible. Having a different version of QBDT will not import the changes made by your accountant. Since there's a possibility that the features they used aren't available in the version you're using.
However, if the gap between the versions is just one year, you can still work on the Accountant's Copy even you're using a different one and the accountant has a more recent version. For examples of compatible versions for the clients and accountants, please visit this article: Use the Accountant's Copy.
