When I go to (apparently it won't let me link but start at the intuit home page and then after the com put in /app/accountant/training) at the top of the list of courses is an icon of a pin with the message, "New training and exam for QuickBooks Desktop 2020 certification and recertification is now available"
But the list of courses only shows the QuickBooks Online courses and then 4 specialty courses. Where do I find the Desktop courses/exam?
Sometimes local internet cache files stored in the system can cause unexpected behavior in the product, @BartHumphries.
This can be the reason why the new training courses are not showing in the list. It would be best to perform some basic troubleshooting steps to fix this.
To start, let's use a private window to access your account. This a special mode where the browser doesn't record the browsing activity on the local device, so no trace will be left on the computer.
Here's how:
If the new training course appears on the list, then let's clear the cache in your web browser or try using a different supported browser. This might be a temporary issue with QuickBooks and the current browser that you use.
Let me also provide you a link to check if your browser is compatible with QuickBooks: Fixit.intuit.com.
If you're still unable to see it, it would be best to get in touch with our phone support or chat team. This way, they can provide you the correct link where you can find the QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program for Accountants.
Here's how:

Hello there, BartHumphries,
Let's try to add Intuit as a trusted site, it prevents your browser from potentially blocking site content.
Follow these steps to add Intuit's URL as a trusted site in your browser:
Safari
Google Chrome
Let me know if you need further assistance.
*intuit.com isn't recognized as a website by Chrome, it has to be intuit.com
And, holy toledo! It appears that no training courses show up unless you turn on 3rd party cookies! Intuit has apparently farmed everything out to some third party (I haven't looked into the page code) and unless you turn on 3rd party cookies in Chrome you see nothing on the training page. I've turned on 3rd party cookies and now I am back to where I started from, I see the Online courses and the "specialty" courses but no desktop courses. I've taken screenshots and put them in an imgur gallery so that you can see what I'm seeing:
Greetings, @BartHumphries.
I appreciate you for going through the steps provided by my colleague. Since the issue persists, I recommend getting in touch with our support team. From there, they can securely check your account and investigate the root cause of this.
To get in touch with them, you can refer to the steps provided by my colleague ReymondO above.

I called QuickBooks support just now and I was told that despite the "New training and exam for QuickBooks Desktop 2020 certification and recertification is now available." message at the top of the course list, I'd have to wait for the desktop courses to post and that I'd get an email about that when that happens. I asked if they had a timeline as to when that might happen and they told me by July. So despite the "now available" message they apparently won't actually be available until sometime in the next few months.
I hope you can see them now. I actually took the 2020 desktop recertification course on Monday, March 23, 2020. So it was available. But now I am trying to find out when the 2020 QBO recertification course will be available. I have always taken it in March each year but now it is not there! I am on a chat which is now an hour long trying to get answers. No one seems to know.
Hi @lgrbook,
You'll want to check your QBOA profile from time to time. The course will be posted once available.
In the meantime, please visit our page for details. Here's the link: Training & Certification.
I'm also adding this awesome article about the ProAdvisor certification course and exam updates for your reference.
