Join nowI have quickbooks 2013 for Mac on my old Mac. I have the new quickbooks 2020 for mac on my new mac. How do I transfer my old files to the new quickbooks? I backed up to a thumb drive and tried to open company on the new mac but it's not an option to open.

You'll need to restore it before you open the company file.
Here's how:
Once the company file is restored, QuickBooks will ask you to update the file. Just click the Update button.

Thank you. There is no attached documents library, only the quickbooks dmg file. When I follow these instructions and then try to open the file it says "The folder or volume where the file is located is locked or read only. Please copy the file to your users documents folder then re-try opening it from there.

Let's go back to your Documents directory and follow these steps:
Once done, go back to the new QuickBooks and re-open the company file.

You moved the backup file from the thumb drive to a folder on your local drive?
Yes. It's in my folder in documents.
It's not locked and I have read and write permissions. I will call the help desk. Thank you for your help.
