@klclark To update a QuickBooks company file from one QuickBooks Desktop year to a more recent QuickBooks Desktop year, first open the more recent QuickBooks Desktop year.
Second, go to Open or Restore Company and navigate to wherever your company file is saved.
Then, open it. The program will take it from there, after you confirm that you want to update to the new year.
Keep in mind that there are no takebacks; if you think you may want to go back to the old year for any reason, save a back-up somewhere. Once upgraded, you can't go back to the older year with the company file you upgraded.
