Using Custom Template to email Pay Stubs in QBDT

I am using QuickBooks Accountant Desktop Plus 2023 on Windows 10 Home, 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor.

Under Edit, Preferences, Send Forms, Company Preferences Tab, the delivery method default is E-Mail, the email template is Pay Stubs, and I have a custom template setup and marked as default.

The default template is not being used when emailing the employees'  pay stubs. I have toggled back to Basic Pay Stub Template, saved the selection and closed out of Edit Preferences, then gone back in to Edit, Preferences and reset the Custom Template as the Default but this still won't select the Default Template used when emailing pay stubs.

I have tried Rebuilding the Data, Verifying the Data, running the Repair in the Program List in the Control Panel and uninstalling then reinstalling the program. Nothing seems to be working.

Sure hope someone has a solution for this! This is costing me a lot of time.

Using Custom Template to email Pay Stubs in QBDT

I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have performed, Smoore. Let me share some details about emailing custom templates.

In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), we can email personalized templates. Since you mentioned you were unable to complete this action, I suggest updating QBDT to the latest release. Then, we have to check if you have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. QuickBooks uses Adobe to convert pay stubs into PDFs.

Afterward, go to the File menu and select the Switch to Single-user Mode. If you see "Switch to Multi-user Mode," don't select it. You're already in Single-user Mode.

If the issue persists, I recommend contacting the QBDT Customer Support. This way, they can further investigate the cause of this issue.

Here's how:

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us.
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue, then select Continue.
  5. Sign in to your Intuit account, choose Continue, and then Continue with my account.
  6. We'll email you a single-use code. Enter your code and select Continue.
  7. Select to chat with us or Have us call you.

Check out their support hours to determine availability.
