We have QuickBooks Desktop and are wanting to process a sales receipt and process a payment using a credit card terminal. How do we get a terminal and how to use/setup with desktop sales receipt. We would like to use the swiped rate on a credit card sale not keyed.

We do have quickbooks payment account. We want to hook a card reader directly to our computer desktop to process a swiped card. We are looking at the below see our attachment. This clearly states it should work exactly like we are wanting through a sales receipt within Desktop Quickbooks software. Please advise.

You chose the correct card reader that works with QuickBooks Desktop 2021 or newer with a micro-USB cable. It accepts EMV chip cards, and debit and credit cards with magstripe.
Please link your Payments account to QuickBooks Desktop first. Once done, connect the card reader using the micro-USB cable included. To learn more about how it works, scroll down on this website for the contact number of our Sales Team.

If you are a new user and this is the first time you order, you can get it from the GoPayment app and use the Merchant Service Center. To do so, follow the steps outlined below:

Can we use the QB card reader via the micro-USB cord with the online version?
We have tried the reader before but sent it back because the only way we could use it was with a mobile phone. We need a way for customers to pay with a CC that doesn't require Bluetooth. We want to connect the reader directly to the PC and leave it on the counter so that anyone can use it.

Great News! QuickBooks Online (QBO) has a card reader that can use via micro-USB cord with the online version. This card reader works for swiping debit cards, credit cards in QBO or your Merchant Service Center. You can order an Intuit QuickBooks Payments MagTek card reader. Also, it will directly connect to your PC.
