How do I change the outgoing email adress when sending estimates and invoices to clients from the email@intuit.com to my own company email address?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hello Mlatzel,
Right now there is a QuickBooks Lab that gives you the option to be able to send invoices from Gmail. I've got some more info available on what it does, but it sounds like what you're looking for.
Reach out to me if you have more questions.
Can that be added as an urgent update request? I could do it using the desktop version, I don't want my clients getting emails from intiut, they will simply get caught in junk email filters and casue me a horrendous amount of time having to chase invoces and responses. Very unsatisfactory.
Hi Grinlor,
You can enter this as a feature request here: http://feedback.qbo.intuit.com/. This is where the engineers go to find the most requested feedback and gather information for future updates.
As for the emails being sent to the junk folders, I recommend trying the steps in this article to correct it: https://community.intuit.com/articles/1265667. Instead of doing do_not_reply@intuit.com, you can choose the email@intuit.com that those invoices and estimates are coming from.
Thanks so much for your time today.
Hi Alicia
Thanks for getting back to me unfortuntely I dont think you quite understand.
As a business I want to control my brand, not advertise Intuit for free. Unless of course Intuit wants to pay me for every email I send out that inadvertanly ends up advertising they exist when I send an email to every client I have. In turn, multiply that by the amount of clients everyone who uses Intuit has and forgive my sceptisism, but I suspect that's not an accident. I don't want Intuit to appear in any of the emails I send to my clients, I'd like to use my own emails like I could when I used the desktop version, I pay to use Intuits service, not to be the advertiser of it for free. That only happens when I am willing and more than happy to extol the virtues of Intuit because it's a service that does exactly what it's supposed to do, be a service, not an underhanded advertising stream.
Alicia,
we also are looking for this feature. We cannot send out invoices with "Intuit" showing in our client's inboxes. They may get invoices from other Quickbooks users and these are indistinguishable from ours.
I would hope you provide us with a ticket# for urgent feature request on this one. I will need to make our decision on whether to continue using Quickbooks dependent on the outcome of this request.
Thank You!
As another note - the "Security" concerns are easily overcome. We are happy to add Intuit IP ranges to our SPF entries in order to prevent emails or IPs getting black listed. The ideal solution would be to allow us to provide an outgoing SMTP server.

This seems to be a new thing. I don't remember intuit being who e-mails are from. My customers/vendors are telling me they are not getting invoices and purchase order. It wasn't a company name they recognized and didn't open. This is so ridiculous. In their mailbox, they should know the e-mail is from our company, not [email address removed]. Please fix this!
Yes, I agree this is a huge problem for us as well. We used to receive acknowledgement emails from our clients automated systems whenever we send them an invoice from QB. At one point we stopped receiving these emails and, it's due to this change that intuit made.
Can you please fix this or provide an alternative? Lot of our large clients use automatic replies to acknowledge they've received invoice from us and, now those emails are not being sent to us...Can you guys atleast forward those emails or implement a better solution and not break an existing feature which was working?
Thank you for dropping by the Community, MM7.
I appreciate you sharing your thoughts about this and I would appreciate if you could send this feedback directly to our product engineers. By doing so, this will help us know what to improve in future updates.

The email that is used when I email my reports to my accountant is no longer active or valid and I dont know how to change that to my current email.
thanks in advance
Greetings, tonyodza.
Thanks for joining the QuickBooks Community. I’ll be your guide today, so you can change the email address.
Updating the information is a breeze. Let me walk you through the step by step process.
For QuickBooks Online, you’ll have to go to the Account and Settings page and update the email from there.
Just in case, check out this article for more information: How to change your email address.
Updating the email in the desktop version depends on the type of service you're using. For the Web Mail feature, please follow these steps to add the information.
When sending reports, you'll have to manually select the newly added email address. This is to ensure that you're not using the incorrect one.
However,if you're using QuickBooks E-mail, you'll have to go to the Company Information page and update the information from there. I'll guide you how.
Once done, you should be able to send reports using the updated email information.
Stay in touch if you have additional questions about QuickBooks. Please know I’m always ready to help. Have a great rest of your day!
There is no gear icon in Quickbooks 2019
Can you use a different email for Estimates then for Invoices?
Thanks for looping in, Vitan.
I'm here to lend a hand and share with you some information about using different emails for estimates and invoices via QuickBooks Online.
To answer your question, yes, you can use different emails for estimates and invoices. However, every time you create a transaction that needs an email, it would default to the email you entered in the customer's profile.
To use different emails, you can manually change the email when you create an estimate and invoice in QuickBooks.

I'm still here if you have any other questions about estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online. Just fill me in.

I'd like to share some information, phanomanom.
When you send invoices to your customers, they may notice the return email address is listed as quickbooks@notification.intuit.com. This is because QuickBooks Online allows you to see your customer’s activities. I'm including an article that can provide further insight into why customer sees QuickBooks as the sender on your emailed transactions.
For now, you'll want to try the solution provided by RR11. I'll be sure to forward your request to our Product Development Team. We always update QuickBooks and feedback like yours might be included in the future.
Please don't hesitate to reply on this thread if there's anything else you need. Thanks.
We send through gmail but would like the return address to be through our domain. I can't send from our domain as there are compatibility issues with our host and yahoo.com addresses. I need to send out from gmail and receive back through my domain. Is this possible in Quick Books?
I appreciate your ideas of wanting this functionality, @skipbales.
Currently, the return email address when sending transactions through Gmail will default to quickbooks@notification.intuit.com. However, you may want to consider RR11 suggestion to enter your email address in the email field instead of your customer's email.
I can see how important to have this option in QuickBooks. But I want to let you know that your voice matters and I'm submitting your feedback directly to our engineers.
