Is there a BILL equivalent in QuickBooks

I am considering using BILL.  Does QuickBooks Online have a good alternative? What are the pros and cons of each?

@greenplants

They offer the Billpay feature as an add-on but I don't see an approval feature available at this time.

You should consider to sign up for a free Melio account to sync with QBO. You can choose whether the payment needs one, two or three approvers You can also gt a $100 cashback to pay the first bill.

Is there a BILL equivalent in QuickBooks

Hi there, greenplants. Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

To ensure I can provide you with an appropriate solution, I'd like to clarify what you mean by bill equivalent in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Are you referring to an online bill pay feature or alternative methods for recording bill transactions? Any additional details you can provide about your specific needs would be helpful. This will allow me to offer you the most accurate and relevant information.

I'll keep an eye out for your response, and should you have further bill pay or any QuickBooks-related concerns, please don't hesitate to include them. We're glad to assist you anytime.

Is there a BILL equivalent in QuickBooks

I am looking for a bill pay feature which would allow for approvals within our company.prior to payment.  BILL or Bill.com has the option of entering the vendor invoice, categorizing it and forwarding to approvers prior to payment.  Bill.com syncs with QBO and works well.  However, if QBO has a similar product, I would like to consider it. Thank you.

Is there a BILL equivalent in QuickBooks

Hi there, greenplants.

We have a QuickBooks Bill Pay that has a bill approval feature. You can use this feature if you have QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advanced and sign up for Bill Pay Elite. If you switch from QuickBooks Bill Pay Elite to another plan and don't have the Advanced version, you'll lose bill approval features and some roles and permissions settings. It means that pending bills can be paid without approval, and some roles will have limited functionality.

Here's how to create a bill approval workflow:

  1. Go to Workflows and click on the Templates tab.
  2. Select the Bill Multi-Condition Approval template and name it.
  3. Set conditions for the amount, vendor, location, etc., and choose the bill approver. Optionally, notify your team via email.
  4. Edit the email details if needed.
  5. Fill out additional conditions if necessary, then save and enable the workflow.

For the detailed steps, visit this article: Set up roles and permissions for paying bills with QuickBooks Bill Pay.

I'm just a few clicks away if there's anything else you need to know about the bill pay feature. We're available 24/7.
