I have Quickbooks Pro 2021, Quickbooks Pro 2022 and Quickbooks Enterprise Solutions 20.0. All seem to be printing 2 per page for 1099 NEC, rathe than the required 3 per page. I have updated Quickbooks and started my computer, all to no avail. Will there be a solution before time runs out, since we only have 10 days left?
I am on the phone with Intuit right now and being told that as of Jan 18th, 2022, the only way to have the 1099-NEC print properly with 3 per page, I will have to upgrade to the latest version...ie QBs 2022. Is this correct?
I am using the QuickBooks Not For Profit 2021 version with the automatic update option on. Why can I not print the 1099 NEC? I have marked the Independent Contractors I need this form for.
I'm having the exact same problem! It remapped everything to Box 15 state tax!
And it won't let me change it!
@spankyd3060 - You have to go into the MISC settings and OMIT the accounts that you want to use on the NEC forms. This requires going through the wizard twice.
Good luck.
@pacificcommunications - it depends on what version you are on right now. QBDT 2019, 2020 and 2021 are still supported. Anything older, you will need to upgrade.
Good luck.
I have tried and tried. Followed the instructions, did the updates and restarted Quickbooks many times, to no avail. I don't know what else to do.
Help!
I got mine working. I followed all your steps above. The only thing that was different was I had words in red just above the "need more information" in the bottom right. I think the red words said something like "your limits do not match IRS thresholds". I clicked the button and 1 of the options were to revert to IRS thresholds, I said yes, and that solved the problem for me.
No. Not unless you have 2018 or before. The thing that fixed it for me was noticing red words just above the "Need more information" when reaching the Confirm your 1099 entries. The red words were something to the effect of "The thresholds you have do not match the IRS thresholds" When you click on the red words you get an option to reset to IRS thresholds. I did, checked my 1099-nec and they now are 3 up.
I followed the steps outlined by TylerBanyan of page 10 of this forum. I too had done the downloading, restarting, close computer entirely, download again, run verify sometimes it found problems, sometimes not, then it would find problems again. I never had critical fixes work correctly. Got error 15240.
Good Luck Everyone!
Same exact thing for me...even erased all updates and then shut off and reinstalled and still no 3NECs HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
No as I have QB 2022 and can't print 3 to a page
I did this and now it won't let me remap to 1099-NEC?
I have the same issue!
Today I upgraded to 2022 QuickBooks Premium Plus expecting to be able to print the 1099 NEC 3-part forms. All releases were installed and system rebooted to no avail. This is very frustrating as it is only 10 days away from the date we must have them mailed. We need to know when we can expect to be able to print the 3-part forms.

I am having to do the same thing - enter into another system to print. I have the updates and was on the phone 2 different times for 2 hours each and cannot solve the problem. It maps fine. It shows 3 up fine but when you print it is below the form lines and won't line up. Has anyone else had this issue?
This did not fix the issue for QB 2022 premier even though the update has been done. Still printing 2 1099-NEC forms to a page.
YES! Same issues here! We are on 2020, 2021, and 2022 premier. We have upgraded, done the updates, etc - all to no avail. Even on the off chance they print 3-to a page, they don't line up even close enough to "make it work." At this point I am ready to give up and pay an online filing system to do these forms which is absolutely ridiculous. After years and years with pretty reliable forms creation this is really appalling.
Yes - I think this is the most likely scenario!
NOT TRUE. I'm running QB 2022 and cannot print these forms.
Hi there, @willetteak1. I want to make sure you're able to print the 1099-NEC form with three vendors per page.
May I know the release version of your QuickBooks? You can find it on the Product Information page by pressing F2 on your keyboard. These are the versions required to print the 1099 NEC forms in QuickBooks Desktop.
If you have the updated version, I'd suggest getting in touch with our Customer Care Support Team. They can check why you're still unable to print your forms with three vendors per page after updating QuickBooks Desktop and provide troubleshooting to fix this.
Here's how:

I have Quickbooks desktop 2022. I have all updates installed and am still printing 2 part 1099 NEC forms.
Any suggestions?
Hey there s6c,
Thanks for letting us know about this. We want to help you further with printing and filing your 1099’s.
For this, you’ll want to make sure that you have the current release version for your product. To do that press the F2 button to open the Product Information screen. Look at the release version extension. It'll be the underscore and a number.
If your product information shows the release version and extension for your product year above or higher, you’re good to go and have the capability to print the 3-part 1099 forms. If your product release and version are lower than those listed, you’ll need to update your QuickBooks.
You can manually install the update patch outside QuickBooks and see if it makes a difference. See these steps:
If the same problem happens, we highly recommend contacting our Support Team to help check on this for you. To get our support, follow the steps below:

I can print 1099-Misc and 1096 but I cannot print 1099-NEC. I've run updates. Any ideas?
I'm running Desktop Pro 2021 R8_72
Hi LoraRR,
Thank you for posting your concern with printing 1099-NEC.
Since your QuickBooks has been updated, and I assume you also followed the other steps in previous responses, it’s best to contact our Support team to check your company’s file. They can use more tools like screen sharing to find the root of the issue.
On the other hand, you can also check other troubleshooting steps on the Tax1099 support page.
Let me know if you have any other concerns about 1099s. Take care and have a good one.
