I upgraded to Quickbooks 2022 desktop and installed all of the updates, including the critical fixes, restarted my computer and restarted Quickbooks, and they're still printing 2 per page. Also, I had changed my company name in the My Company screen, including my tax ID, and my old company name still shows up on the 1099's.
I have just done the update that was recommended, but my 1099-NEC forms are still printing 2 to a page. I am on 2019 Desktop Pro/Premier. How do I get them to print 3 on a page as required by the IRS?
How do align the 3 part 1099-NEC? I can get them to print but only 1 out of 3 is lined up properly on the sheet without information being cut off. The other two need information moved in the opposite direction of one another so no matter what information will be cut off of some of the forms.

There's an option in QuickBooks Desktop to align the form 1099. You'll want to follow these steps:
Before that, make sure that your QuickBooks is up-to-date. Also, you can run the QuickBooks Print & Print Repair Tool to fix issues in printing forms.
Once done, print the 1099 forms again. For the detailed steps, here's how to align forms in QuickBooks Desktop.

I am running QuickBooks Pro 2020 desktop. Every time I update QuickBooks my system crashes and I need my computer guy out to reinstall, at a cost. Now it seems unless I "update" I cannot print my 1099's! What is this all about, other than forcing me to purchase a paid online QuickBooks Pro subscription I do not want to do since I have another year on my current version. Contacting QuckBooks is no help.
This still does not fix the problem. i still have 2 1099's on the page that have information cut off or in the incorrect box
Let me address your concerns one at a time, @PHI89 and @arl686s.
@PHI89, one of the possible reasons why QuickBooks crashes is that your company file is damaged. To get this fix, let's run the Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Here's how:

I am using QB 2018 Desktop Pro. Is there a way for me to print the 3-up 1099 NEC forms? I have done all the updates, but it is only printing 2-up.
After doing the update, I cannot print the 1099's at all (like I could before the update). When I hit print, it starts to flash up on the screen, then it quickly disappears and nothing happens. When I hit print preview, nothing happens whatsoever. Please help! Thanks!
This did not fix my problem. It still wants to print only 2 forms instead of 3 on a page. What is my next step as these need to be mailed within the week and I only have the weekend to work on this as it is not my full time job.
My QuickBooks 2022 has downloaded the Critical Update but, won't install it. It tells me it's waiting to install, to, exit and restart QuickBooks. I've done this multiple, multiple multiple times. Now it gives me Error #15240. How do I fix this? I spent hours trying to resolve this.
I finally figured it out everyone! When you go to do the update tick the box that says 'Reset Update'. Then click 'Get updates'. My product release number was R3-65. Not it is R3-78 and I can now print 1099-NEC with 3 on the page!! YEAH!!!
I did the update and now it has changed my 1099 setup for accounts to Box 15 for all of my accounts that I associated to 1099-NEC Box 1. It will not allow me to change it. Is anyone else seeing this issue?????
Terri
I did the above and it still is not printing the NEC to 3 per page. I am on the 2021 Desktop Premier version
I am using quickbooks online and can only print 1099 NEC 2 forms per page. You can't tell me that is because I don't have the latest version.
Hi there, @Bmorgan441. Allow me to chime in and help you print the 1099-NEC form with three vendors per page.
We can perform basic troubleshooting steps. Issues like this are usually the result of outdated or corrupt cache files in your web browser. We can clear them in just a few easy steps. Let's start by accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:
If it's responsive, I recommend that you clear your browser's cache. By clearing them, you can remove that historical data and access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also switch to a different supported browser to see if it has something to do with your browser.
To all QuickBooks Desktop users having issues with their 1099s, may I know the release version of your QuickBooks? You can find it on the Product Information page by pressing F2 on your keyboard. These are the versions required to print the 1099 NEC forms in QuickBooks Desktop.
If you have the updated version, I'd suggest getting in touch with our Customer Care Support Team. They can check why you're still unable to print your forms with three vendors per page after updating QuickBooks Desktop and provide troubleshooting to fix this.

We did all of the above, twice, and the 1099 form format is still 2 per page!
I have done this process 3 times. And still has just 2 to a page. When I go out of program and restart it it does not ask to say yes to the upgrades
I have upgraded still just printing 2 1099 per page
I have QBooks Pro 2020 Desktop. When I press F2 it says Activated R3_81 but below in the Versions Box it says V30.OD R13
Hello there, @gkleinmd and @Denise561. I'm here to give information about your 1099 NEC printing concern.
In most cases, this issue can be resolved by downloading the latest QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) updates. You'll want to ensure that your QBDT program is on the latest release to be able to print the form in the desired format. Please check below the releases for QBDT for Windows that will allow you to print 1099 NEC 3 page:
Then, here are the releases required to print 1099 NEC 3 per page in QBDT for Mac:
Since you're still unable to print the 1099 NEC 3 per page after performing the steps provided by my colleagues in this thread, I'd recommend reaching out to our Customer Care team. For the instructions, you can follow the steps provided by
LieraMarie_A above.
For your concern, @PHI89, we can manually update your QBDT program to fix the update message. Before that, you'll have to completely close out and shut down your QBDT and restart your computer. The system may need a slight reboot for the updater to successfully install the release patches. Here's how:
Once done, restart your computer. When your computer opened, proceed in updating your QBDT program.
Pulling up reports to easily review your 1099 information in QBDT is easy. You can either run the 1099 Summary or 1099 Detail report. Take note that they default to the current date format so you'll have to set the correct date range.
Keep in touch if you have any other 1099 concerns. You can always get back here. Have a good one.
Has this update been completed? I ran an update check and there is nothing new to download. can not print three part 10990NEC forms. It still printing the layout for a two part old form style and even then it only prints one. Time is REALLY of the essence on this matter.
Thanks for joining us here, @KrysD.
I'll share the steps on how you can print your 1099-NEC. Since you're still unable to print 3-part after running updates, you'll want to perform a clean install of the software. This process can fix company file issues and won't affect your data at all. Let me guide you how.
To uninstall:
After that, reinstall QuickBooks. For the detailed steps, see this guide: Clean install QuickBooks Desktop.
Once done, restart your computer. Before printing the form, make sure to reset the payroll tax table and QuickBooks updates. Refer to these articles below.
Lastly, try printing your 1099-NEC. Here's the link: Create and file 1099s with QuickBooks Desktop.
Let me know how it goes after trying the above steps as I wanted to ensure this is resolved for you. Take care and have a good one.
