Instead of doing it, you can turn on the Custom transaction numbers feature to change the number of previous invoices. Here's how: Go to the Gear icon. Select Account and Settings under Your Company. In the Sales tab, enable the Custom transaction numbers feature under the Sales form content section. Click Save. Then, Done. Once done, we'll see an Invoice no. field where you can enter your own numbering preferences. We can also open the past invoices and modify the number. Hi there, Can you help me with doing this same thing on Quickbooks Pro 2019 Desktop. My automatic invoice number changed? I didn't think I changed anything but after I added my monthly memorized transactions, the invoice number started off from a different number and format. I don't have the option of going to Sales. Thanks for any help.
