Join nowHi there, @kkirchner841.
You've got me here to share some insights about the phone number format in QuickBooks Online and how you can modify your number.
If you're referring to modifying your phone format number on the statement, you can do this from the Accounts and Settings. Before doing so, know that the system is using the default phone number format, which is ten digits (area code and 7-digit phone number), such as (555) 555-1234.
To edit your number:
However, if you mean to change your customer's phone number, this can be done from their profiles.
Here's how:
Any changes made in the system will reflect on the statement.
To give you more insights about changing the business contact information and adding phone numbers on the sales transactions in QBO, please see these links attached:
Lastly, if you wish to customize your statement so you can have your desired phone number format, this option is currently unavailable. You can only customize the invoices, estimates and sales receipts.
I'll be around to lend a helping hand if you have any other questions. I'll make sure you;re taken care of. Have a lovely day!
I should have been more clear as to what the issue was. It is the phone number on the statement that I wanted to fix and I have done all the steps indicated. In Accounts and Settings, it has you select the country (U.S.) and looks like this on the screen: +1 (410) 123-1234 (using 410 are code, 123-1234 as the number) but when saved, it then shows as +1 4101231234 on the settings page. But on the statement that prints, it shows as +41 01231234. Can't find a way to make it shows as (410) 123-1234 (or even 410 1231234 would be better).
Thank you for getting back here in the Community, @kkirchner841.
I appreciate you providing more details about your concern. Currently, the option to customize statements in QuickBooks Online is unavailable. Also, the phone number will depend on the default format that was saved in the company settings.
However, if in case you want to change your phone number, you can follow the steps provided by my colleague above.
If in case you want to modify or change your sales forms in QBO, you may visit this article: Customize form styles. It includes visual and textual instructions about the process.

This reply again explains the process that I have already done. The issue is that the format on the statement does not resemble the format set up in the settings area. Issue is unresolved.
I've read the entire thread, and I can see that all possible troubleshooting steps have already been shared with you, kkirchner841.
In this case, I'd recommend reaching out to our phone or chat support teams. They'll take a closer look at your company setup to determine why the phone number is not formatting correctly. Here's how to reach out to them:

I too was having this problem of the phone number format being wrong. I was able to fix it by removing +1 and providing only the 10 digit phone number.
Hi There,
I was having the issue too when changing the phone number through the account settings.
To bypass it, what I did was:
View an invoice - click the gear icon - click the "change what your customers see" link.
When the invoice editing window comes up, select "Content" then the pencil icon for the invoice header.
Here you can enter the phone number, in the format you want without Quickbooks inserting the country code.
Hopefully this helps, someone!
Hi ORDI,
Thanks so much for providing this information. I'm sure it will be beneficial for others in the same situation. We appreciate you taking the time to post in the Community.
Take Care!
Thank you SOOO much!! I have been given multiple suggestions previously but none took care of this issue. I could not get rid of the country code format. Your solution seems to work. I was surprised that I was able to change it on one invoice and it showed up on another. I thought I was going to have to do this on every invoice. Again, much appreciated!
I just want to say, this is kind of ridiculous. Quickbooks is not a cheap association and has been around for a long time. We should be able to present our information in a professional manner. And paying Premium rates, I should be able to customize things like this and how my invoice appears more easily. There aren't even basic font editing and formatting features on the email to send along with the invoices (bullets, bold, underline, etc). I would really appreciate Quickbooks stepping up the plate and updating these feature to be up to par with how most all other authoring programs are working.
Thanks,
John

I can see having the options to customize your invoice with bold and bullets can benefit your business and other users. Rest assured I’ll let our developer team know about this so they’ll consider adding this in the future updates.
There are always looking for ways in enhancing QuickBooks. You can also send feedback so they can review it. Let me show you how in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

Sad it was a customer rather than Quickbooks rep
