I have searched Google and this forum for the answer, but couldn't find it.
I want to make a list of all paid invoices with a particular product/line item (2018 Dues). I then want to use that list to create copies of those invoices for this year's billing (2019 Dues).
Is there an easy way to do this? I can't seem to find a filter to show me only invoices with a particular product as a line item.
Also, is there an easier way to manage annual dues/fees?
Hi there, @HTF.
Welcome and thanks for posting here in the Community. I can help pull up the list that you need in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Yes! There's an easy way to pull up the list that has all the paid invoices with a particular product/line item, and that is through Sales by Product/Service Detail report. This report will also help you mange your annual dues/fees in QBO. All you need to do is to make some tweaks on it by simply customizing the report to show all the information.
Here's how:
1. Go to Reports menu on the left pane.
2. On the search bar, type Sales by Product/Service Detail.
3. Change the Date to This Year.
4. On the Group by drop-down, select Product/Service under Rows/columns.
5. Now, click Customize on the upper right, then go to Filter.
6. Choose Invoice as the Transaction Type.
7. Select the specific product/line item on the Product/Service.
8. On the A/R Paid, choose Paid.
9. Once done, click Run report.
That should get you the list with all the paid invoices. For future reference, you may visit this article that tackles customizing reports in QBO: Customize reports.
I'd be glad to continue assisting if you should have any additional questions. Wishing you and your organization continued success.

Hi, Fritz. Thank you for the help.
I had gotten that far. My question was more for the All Sales/Invoices screens. On the report screen, there is no drop-down for the invoice that lets me select "Copy." From the report screen, I have to click the invoice, then copy it from there. I was hoping to be able to use the Product filter on the https://c32.qbo.intuit.com/app/sales screen to give me the same list, then just one click to the Copy.
Thank you, again, for the help! I guess if this is the only way to do it, then that's how it has to be done.
Also, is there a way to sort the report by Customer instead of by Date?
Found the answer to this one! :-)
Good day, @HTF.
I can share more information about reports in QuickBooks Online.
Yes, there's a way to sort the report by Customer instead of by Date. Let me show you how to filter the Sales by Product/Service Detail report:
To learn more about customizing reports, you can refer to this article: https://community.intuit.com/articles/1614765-customize-reports.
That should do it. Keep us posted if you have other concerns about reports. Wishing you and your business continued success.
It appears there have been some updates to the Quickbooks Online user interface since this answer was given.
How do I do this now that there is no longer a "group by" option? All I can access with these instructions is a summary of total sold for a particular product.
Also, the linked help page is gone from that location. :/
Hi there, @Mikes_RV_Towing.
It's my priority that you'll be able to run the report you need in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
I've replicated this in my sample QBO account to be sure, and when I try to pull up the Sales by Product/Service Detail report, the Group by option is there.
To isolate the issue, let's try opening your account in a private (incognito) window. Using a safe browser and accessing the program from there can usually fix the issue.
Check out these keyboard shortcuts:
Once done, try to run the report again. If this works in incognito, we can try clearing your Internet cache. Before doing so, ensure to close the browser after clearing for the changes to take effect. See Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online for more information.
Otherwise, switch to a different browser like Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari. The one you are currently on maybe have a temporary issue with QuickBooks, and using a new browser for the moment will allow you to get back to work.

Please let me know how it goes. I'll be looking forward to hearing back from you. Have a great day!
Mikes_RV_Towing did you ever figure out how to do this? I need to figure this out too but the instructions don't work.
Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, Susie28. I can see how important to figure out some things in QuickBooks Online to help run your business. With this, let me share extra details about customizing a report in our program and ensure you can see the Group By option.
You can always have the option to format the layout so the right data shows up in the right place. That being said, you can always see the Group by option under the Rows/columns and below the Report period drop-down. I attached a screenshot below for visual reference.
If the issue continues after following the steps shared by my colleague MirriamM, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They have the tools to pull up your account in a secure environment which we're unable to do it here in the Community. That way, they'll be able to investigate the cause of why the Group By option is missing.
Here's how to contact them:
