My data did not transfer to turbotax - the process appeared to take place but its not there!

Hi, @mikejesq.

I'm here to share some information and ensure that you're able to see the imported transactions in the Turbo Tax (TT).

Please review the following listed below to avoid any difficulties in transferring the data:

  • You're not logged in to any other QBO product while exporting the data.
  • The TT version should TT Self-Employed and TT live Self-Employed only.
  • There's no entered data before you started exporting
  •  Should start the export process from the QBSE
  • The tax checklist is completed in the Annual taxes tab
  • Answer the questionnaire perfectly

Check out this page, for more details: Quickbooks-Self Employed data won't transfer to TurboTax Self-Employed.

Once confirmed and the issue persists, please follow the steps to troubleshoot the problem.

  1. Choose Let's get started.
  2. Go to the Income & Expenses tab in TurboTax.
  3. In the Self-employed income and expenses section, click Review.
  4. Examine the data, then tap Looks good.
  5.  Hit Done

You may refer to this article: Send QuickBooks Self-Employed tax info to TurboTax Self-Employed or Live.

If you can't still view the transaction or see $0, I'd advise contacting our support to further investigate the root cause. For more information, visit this article: Contact QuickBooks Self-Employed Support.

Please note that QBSE only sends certain expenses and doesn't track state estimated income and tax

I've also added pages about preparing your taxes, handling Schedule C, and other relevant topics.

Don't hesitate to leave a message below if you have additional questions. I'm eager to help. Keep safe!

I did all this perfectly -

You're not logged in to any other QBO product while exporting the data. The TT version should TT Self-Employed and TT live Self-Employed only.  There's no entered data before you started exporting  Should start the export process from the QBSE The tax checklist is completed in the Annual taxes tab Answer the questionnaire perfectly

with the possible exception of "Not logged in to any other QBO product"  - I may have had another tab open with QB. I've been in IT for 30 years so I kind of find it hard to believe that another session would break server-side data transfer...

anyhow there is nothing in Schedule C. And I can't retry it. $300+ later. Seems flimsy for expensive software.

I wish I could make it better, @mikejesq.

Since you're still unable to transfer your data to TurboTax even after following the suggestion above, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Support.

With their tools, one of our specialists can help you accomplish your tasks in question. To do so:

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter Unable to export data to TurboTax in the What can we help you with? field.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Choose a channel where you wish to connect with our dedicated team.

Additionally, I've got you this helpful article for guidance in preparation for the 2020 tax season: Get ready to file your taxes with QuickBooks Self-Employed.

If there's anything else that I can help you with, please let me know by leaving any comments below. I'll be here to lend a hand.

This happened to me - I printed the summary and just manually plugged everything in manually.  There may have been some raised voices betweeen my husband and myself.  I finally found this thread after taxes were submitted.
