How can I have the 1099 re-emailed to one of my contractors from intuit?

It’s great to see you in the Community, randlprocessserv.

Yes, you can let Intuit send another 1099 to your contractors. Perform the same process in creating the tax forms. Download them and attach them to your vendors’ email.

Here’s how:

  1. In your company, go to the Expenses menu on the left panel and choose Vendors.
  2. Tap the Prepare 1099s button to open the 1099 wizard page.
  3. From there, select Continue your 1099s and click the Finish preparing 1099s button.
  4. Then, choose Print and mail.
  5. This will display a page where you’ll have to pick the form type and paper used to print the tax return.
  6. Tap the Print on 1099 forms option and Print.reprint.pngreprint.pngreprint2.png
  7. In the Print settings window, click the Destination drop-down and choose Save as PDF.reprint2.pngreprint2.png
  8. Press the Save button and then select the location you wish to keep the file.

Once done, you can attach the 1099 forms to your contractors. Let me share these articles for additional references. These resources provide information on how to resend another set of 1099s and steps to view the submitted forms.

How can I have the 1099 re-emailed to one of my contractors from intuit?

Unfortunately though when I save the pdf, it does not appear on a 1099 form.  It is just as you displayed below in the print preview, words and numbers on a page with no boxes or fields.  This does not help my contractor or I any.

Thanks for the quick reply, @randlprocessserv.

I appreciate you for following the steps presented by my peer above. I'm here to ensure you're able to re-emailed the 1099 form to your contractors.

If you e-filed the 1099 form in the system, I'd suggest logging in to your 1099 E-File Service account. Then, download the form and re-emailed it to your contractors.

Here's how:

  1. Enter your User IDPassword, then Sign In.
  2. Choose the company that you've signed up for the E-File service.
  3. On the Homepage, click the Download and print hyperlink.

       4. Follow the onscreen instructions, then hit Download

Furthermore, if your contractor has a QuickBooks Self-Employed Account, they can log in there and review the form.

However, if you manually file the form, you can follow the same steps given in the first reply. Please make sure to map the account properly for you to get a copy of the form. Since the form has no boxes or fields in saving it to PDF, I'd recommend updating and repair your Acrobat to isolate the problem.

Once confirmed, please follow the steps below on how to download the PDF latest release.

  1. Launch Adobe Reader or Acrobat.
  2. Choose Help, then click Check for Updates.
  3. Follow the steps in the Updater window to download and install the latest updates.

After that, I'd advise repeating the process to verify if it's functioning well. If the issue persists, then proceed with repairing the installation of the pDF reader.

Here's how:

  1. Close all open programs on your computer.
  2. Click the Start button in the lower-left hand corner of your screen.
  3. Type Control Panel in the search box, then Enter.
  4. Choose Programs and Features.
  5. Tap Acrobat or Adobe Reader, and select Uninstall/Change.
  6. Hit Next in the Setup dialog box.
  7. Pick Repair, then press Next.
  8. Tap Install, and hit Finish
  9. Restart your computer.

For the complete steps, check out this link: How to update, repair, or re-install Adobe Reader/Acrobat

You may also visit these articles listed below for more troubleshooting steps in PDF. Also, the link will help you handle your various forms.

Please let me know if you have further questions or concerns. I'll be here every step of the way. Take care always.

How can I have the 1099 re-emailed to one of my contractors from intuit?

Hi I have the same question except I would like to have a 1099 resent electronically by Intuit. The instructions included in this thread seem to be for me to email a copy of a 1099 which is not as secure as the vendor needing to log in to their QB account. Is it possible to resend a 1099 electronically without having the process be an email attachment that I send? TY!

Thanks for joining this thread, UrsaMinor11.

When e-filing your 1099s, you'll see a delivery option for contractor copies. If you don't see this option, it means you've chose to provide contractors online access to their 1099s when they were added to QuickBooks.

In the event they have a QuickBooks Self-Employed account, they can sign in to it and review their 1099s.

Here's how:

  1. After signing in, they'll need to go to their Clients menu.
  2. Select Forms.

You can also email a copy to them with Rasa-LilaM's steps.

I've included a detailed resource about sharing 1099s with contractors which may come in handy moving forward: Create & file 1099s with QuickBooks Contractor Payments

I'll be here to help if there's any questions. Have a great day!
