How I set entering billable time to the quarter hour in quickbooks online?

Hello there, @userawolff.

I want to make sure this is taken care of.

When you enter your client's billable time, you'll have to use the default ratio format (hours: minutes). However, it'll automatically be converted to the decimal format (i.e 0.00) when you add it to an invoice. Then, the said format will be converted back to the first-mentioned one when you print and send the invoice.

In case you want to customize your invoices to include information that matters most to your business, you can refer to this article: Customize invoices in QuickBooks Online. It also contains details about personalizing your invoice email message.

Additionally, I'd recommend visiting our blog site. This way, you’ll get the program's latest upgrades, news, and features: The QuickBooks blog.

I'm just one click away if you need a hand with running payroll reports or any QBO related. I'm always here to help. Take care always.

How I set entering billable time to the quarter hour in quickbooks online?

Appreciate the response however, I'm not sure this answers my question exactly. I enter my time using the weekly timesheet. There if I want to put in 1.75 hours it doesn't calculate as one and three-quarters of an hour. It assigns a off number to the time. I would like to make sure time is billed by the quarter hour. .25, .5, .75. How do I do that so I don't get times that are .10, .15, .40 etc? Thanks!

I can share additional information about adding time in your weekly timesheet, @userawolff.

The time format when adding your weekly timesheet should be in HH:MM. When you enter the time in decimal like 1.75, that'll be converted automatically to 1:45.

You can also search for a Decimal to Time calculator on the web to help you in converting it.

See this article for more information: Enter a weekly timesheet. Also, here's detailed guidance on the difference between weekly and single timesheets.

For more information on how to make time billable and add a Time Tracking user, check this article: how to turn on and set up time tracking.

I'm always here if you need more help with your timesheets. Take care and have a wonderful day!

How I set entering billable time to the quarter hour in quickbooks online?

Mary Joy D - I guess I need to train myself to put the time in as 15, 30, 45 instead of 25, 50, 75. Thanks for the assistance.

Is there a way to have the bill show the time billed in .25 .5 .75 instead of .15 .3 .45? The time entry and invoice show .25/.5/.75 but when it goes to print the invoice, the format changes :(

I appreciate you for joining the thread, Jessica. Let me share information about entering billable time in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Changing the time format of the billable time is currently unavailable. I understand the importance of displaying the time billed in decimal format. Rest assured our engineers are working nonstop to enhance the product and deliver the best experiences for all QuickBooks users.

At this time, I'd suggest sending this idea to our product developer team. This way, they'll know how useful this feature is for your business and consider this in future updates.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  4. Hit Next.

Once done, your valuable suggestion goes to our designated team to help improve your experience in QBO. You can track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.
