At the moment, QuickBooks Desktop doesn't have preprinted copies of the 1099-NEC form available yet. You can obtain the form from us once the filing season begins. Furthermore, you can secure a copy by ordering from us or directly from the IRS.
Moreover, the IRS doesn't require Form 1096 if you've filed your taxes electronically. To know more, you can visit this article:

As stated previously by my colleague, state 1099-NEC forms are currently unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). Rest assured that you'll gain access to them once the tax filing begins.

The state informed me that this is a Quickbooks issue and not something that the state of CT can resolve. They only provide the steps to upload the forms.

As per my colleagues mentioned in this thread, the 1099-NEC form will only be available once the filings start. At that time, you can only print them by purchasing a form from us or directly from your state agency.
If you only need to gather data from it, you can pull up 1099 reports to collate or review their information. Doing so will show you who needs 1099s, payment totals, and more.

Thanks for your reply! I figured that Quickbooks did not support state requirements but also, CT is required to file Form 1099-NEC (don’t know why it’s not listed as one if the state’s requirements) but I attended a webinar this week stating it was in fact required.

State of CT says it’s a Quickbooks issue and not a state issue. Also, I am a tax professional just not a Quickbooks professional but still learning
