The option to remove the signature line on the Purchase Order is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online. I'll raise this suggestion to our Product Development Team for consideration on future updates.
For now, I encourage you to visit our QuickBooks Blog. From there, we share recent happenings and future developments of QBO.
Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you in the meantime. I'm always here to help you.
I want to do the same thing. There is no way to do it, as you can see from the official response below. I have resorted to never printing the purchase order forms out of QBO. I have to have an excel spreadsheet PO template that is formatted correctly, that I fill in alongside the one in QBO, that I then can print out and share with a vendor properly. It doubles the work, but it is a work-around. It's really stupid there are basic features in Quickbooks Desktop which were never implemented in QBO.
Hello there, @ologicinc.
Please know that this isn't the type of service we want you to experience. I can see how handy it is to have this feature that can help expedite the time you spent keeping track of how your business is doing. While the preference to do this is not an option right now, rest assured that I'm making it my top priority that your suggestion reaches our developers.
Every enhancement we develop comes from our customers’ suggestions. We take this as an opportunity for us to improve how the program works. In case there are updates about the product, I’ll post them here in the Community.
For now, I suggest checking out regularly for any updates and enhancements through this link: The QuickBooks Blog.
Please feel free to post here in the Community if you have other questions with QuickBooks reports. Have a good one!
I agree, I'm editing the pdf with Foxit to basically put a big white box over the signature line. Save double entry but there should be definitely more formatting options for purchase orders. I'm new to Quickbooks but surely, PO's cant be new to QB??
Hey there, @CNeal.
Thanks for following the thread.
Purchase Orders have been used in QuickBooks since product development. Below I've included an article about purchase orders and how you use them effectively throughout the product. Such as:
Create purchase orders in QuickBooks Online.
Please don't hesitate to let me know if there is anything else that I could assist you with. I'll be just around the corner. You can always reach out to the Community or me anytime you find you need help. Take care and have a good one!
Are you kidding me? Is this a chat-bot replying to this thread? Why are you replying with the useless instructions on how to use a purchase order, when the issue at hand is the fact there is stuff on a purchase order.....namely the signature lines that CANNOT be removed. Intuit, Please don't reply to this thread unless you actually have a suggestion or a method that would allow one to do this. The PDF editor idea is the best one so far, but it would be better if QBO could just do this the way that desktop did, by allowing us to make a custom PO form.
Hello, @ologicinc. I appreciate your input from every angle.
I definitely see how you would want to have this feature. Right now, it's still unavailable. Rest assured that I'll pass along your suggestion to our Product Developers. They're always looking for ideas to consider on how to improve QuickBooks Online (QBO).
In the meantime, I encourage you to star our blog to keep up with any product updates or improvements on the online version: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/blog/whats-new/.
If there's anything else I can do for you, let me know by commenting below. I'm happy to help. Have a great day!
If I want to sign a Purchase Order I can do that without some programmer at QuickBooks drawing a signature line for me on a static business document. It's very frustrating when I get push back from a vendor because they think they got a bad Purchase Order because the signature is missing. You do realize that in order to sign this Purchase Order I have to Print it, scan it, and email it back rather than using the convenient QBO email function. Enought already, just fix the stupid thing.
It's been close to 3 years, has this been corrected?
Please advise.
Bill
I am also looking to remove the signature line.
I am also looking to remove the signature line.
We have vendors all the time wanting us to print, sign , and scan and send back to them before processing.
This is wasting valuable time.
Please advise what the developement team is doing since first request in 2019?
Has this even been looked at?
Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, Bill Mc and bglaser.
I understand how removing the signature line would benefit you and your company. Therefore, let me help you send feedback so our product developers can consider adding the feature in the next updates as soon as possible.
Please know that all suggestions are being considered by our product engineers based on the volume of requests and their influence on the user interface before they are implemented. At this time, we don't have the exact time frame of when the said option would be implemented. Rest assured our engineering team is working on implementing the customer's needs.
I recommend sending a request on your end straight to our product engineers. This recommendation is directly mailed to our engineers for consideration in future updates and helps us improve the program's features.
Here's how:
Furthermore, you can download the purchase order and edit the PDF file to remove the signature line as a workaround. To do this, use a 3rd party app to achieve the process.
Lastly, refer to this article if you need steps to view the list of all open purchase orders to manage them accurately: Create and send purchase orders in QuickBooks Online.
If you have any other questions about managing PO in QuickBooks Online, you can always add them to your reply. I'll be more than happy to take care of them for you, Bill Mc and bglaser. Have a dazzling day ahead!
Yeah - I did this almost 5 years ago - Are you kidding me? After 5 years - the same answer to this question is - open your PO's one by one using a premium PDF editor and remove the signature line. The "development team" hasn't taken the request seriously for 5 years. Why would they suddenly care about it now? Perhaps if enough people chime in on this thread that is a seriously stupid issue to have a mandated signature line you cannot remove on every PO QBO generates - BTW - this problem did NOT exist prior to QBO. You could make your own template for a PO back then. So, honestly, platitudes about "we have alot on our plate to deal with" just don't cut it after waiting 5 years for a better solution than edit the file in a PDF editor. Heck - why even use the feature at all - why not just make a nice looking form in Excel or Google sheets and issue PO's that way. It takes the same amount of work getting around this bug.
I concur with @ologicinc! @MirriamM this really needs to be escalated. I've been dealing with this and subjecting my vendors to this PO issue for four years. You can customize Invoices and Estimates. The same should hold true for Purchase Orders! I saw that a bunch of new 'product features' were annouced to QBO a couple of months ago. None of which apply readily to my business. It would really be nice to see some investment in improving just the day to day user experience in QBO. Such as PO's! For everything QBO does well and saves tons of time there are enough little annoynces that it makes one look trice at the multitudes emails for Quick Book alternatives. Thanks for 'listening'.
