Let's make sure to fix the no-matching transactions issue in QuickBooks, dennis60.
This happens if you sometimes experience an overload browser which causes problems with loading or formatting issues, missing images, buttons that don't respond when clicked, and most especially odd behavior when searching for transactions.
You'll want to log in to your account using a private browser (incognito) to check if you're still seeing the error. I've provided the shortcut keys below so you can follow them:
Once done, double-check if you're able to search for the invoice. If so, return to your default browser and clear the cache so you'll be able to work with a clean slate. Your cache and extensions are probably interfering with the scripts QuickBooks is trying to run on the page. Otherwise, you'll want to switch to a different browser.
Moreover, QuickBooks offers different kinds of reports that cater to your business needs. You'll want to customize them to make sure you get the data you need most. I've added this article for more information: Customize Reports In QuickBooks Online.
Reach out to us if you have any questions about invoices or anything with your transactions. I'll always make sure to get back to you.
Maria,
THANK YOU for your promot and detailed response.
I tried evrything you suggested without success. Upon futher investigation however, I discovered the issue we're encountering is caused by the QuickBooks default filter setting date which prevents finding any transaction via search prior to that QuickBooks default date. The only way for search to find transactions prior to the default date, is if users use advanced search and change the date filter manually every time you perform a search.
Unfortunately, we could not find this default date filter mentioned anywhere in the QuickBooks help system, nor could we find any way to set the system default filter date to one of our preference, which is a design shortcoming with the software. In our business, we're frequently searching for prior transactions with our clients to assist them with trends, projections and the like.
Previously when using the QuickBooks APP, we never encountered this default date limit and since the desktop app was discontinued it's become a major inconvenience.
The permanent default date filter should be a user preference setting, NOT an arbitrary one set by QuickBooks
Hi there, dennis60.
The option to set the system to a permanent default filter date isn't available in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Having this feature would be great.

FYI, after clicking "Next" we were not presented any options concerning feedback category as mentioned in your response, so something must have changed with the feedback system.
Hi Dennis,
Thank you for pointing out about seeing a prompt about categories after sending feedback. Please know that this hasn't been the case, so I'm going to let my colleague edit her answer when she returns to the office for her shift. If there would be related article, it would most likely be this one: How to search for transactions in QuickBooks Online.
You can, however, check our Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online page to find and vote for other ideas suggested by other users.
On the other hand, I would like to address your concern about the Date filter that you mentioned in your previous reply. This option will help you find transactions outside of the default search limits. All you need to do is click the Add filter button in the Advanced search section, and then click the Date filter to enter a date range.
I'm only a comment away should you need more help finding your transactions in QuickBooks. Have a good one.
I already figured out the problem and solution on my own as noted in my 1st reply.
Unfortunately the current solution is temporary and requires users to change the date filter every time performing a search that goes beyond QuickBooks predetermined default date.
I've provided feedback suggesting QuickBooks let users set their own default search date.
No additional support responses required.
Dennis, thanks for the solution. I was having the same problem and wish they would allow us to change the default.
I miss my old QB but was forced to go to on line when they dropped support of the downloading capability from my desk top version.
Thanks again,
Ron
