Pay button for invoice...where do I find this? it is not showing up when i create an invoice

Greetings, @michaelmuff76.

Let me be the first to welcome you to the QuickBooks Community. I’m here to share with you where to find the Pay Now button in your invoices.

The Pay Now feature allows you to accept payments on invoices by using a debit, credit card, Apply Pay, or bank transfer. This option will be available on your invoices once you turn on QuickBooks Payments.

To turn on QuickBooks Payments, follow the steps below:
1.    Click the Gear icon.
2.    Select Account & Settings under Your Company.
3.    Click Payments.
4.    Select Learn more on the QuickBooks Payments option.
5.    Click Set Up Payments to get started.
6.    Fill in all the business information including the bank account where you want your customers’ payments to be deposited.
7.    Once done, click the Submit button.

By following the steps above, you can now accept payments with the Pay Now button on your invoices. For reference, you may check out this helpful tutorial on how to set up and use QuickBooks Payments: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/tutorials/lessons/how-to-set-up-and-use-quickbooks-payments/.

Should you need anything else, let me know. I’ll be around to help. Have a good one!

Thanks for joining this thread, @808princess.

I'd be happy to assist you with turning on the QuickBooks Payments in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

QuickBooks Desktop for Mac doesn't have the Gear icon option since it a different platform. Let me guide you through the steps of turning on the QuickBooks Payment option on your QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

Here's how:

  1. Complete the Intuit QuickBooks payments approval email to link the payments on the email address you used for your application.
  2. Open the QuickBooks for Mac company file that you wish to link payments services to.
  3. Go to the Customers drop-down and select Add Credit Card Processing.
  4. Select Link Merchant Account to Company File.
  5. Click the Create Ticket button in the lower left corner of the Merchant Service window.
  6. Log into this web page with the same credentials used in the approval email for this account.
  7. A window appears with the connection ticket information required for the following steps. If an active connection ticket appears, copy it so you can paste it in the next steps. If no active connection ticket appears, click on Create a Connection Ticket to generate a new one.
  8. Close the pop-up window to return to the Merchant Service window. If necessary, repeat steps 3-4 to re-display the Merchant Service window.
  9. An empty field then appears to the right of the Create Ticket button. Paste the connection ticket you copied earlier in this field.
  10. Click on Save

For detailed instructions about this process, please refer to this article: Connect your Payments Account to QuickBooks for Mac.

That's it! You're ready to start processing payments in QuickBooks for Mac!

If you need additional assistance with this process, please reach out to our Merchant Services Team. They have the proper tools that can guide you through the process.

Please know that I'm just a reply away should you need anything else about QuickBooks Payments. I'd be pleased to help. Have a nice day ahead.

To clarify -  I would like to the Pay Now button to the invoices so a customer can pay online with their credit card, vs processing payments, swiping or manual entry.  Thanks!

Thanks for joining the thread, @jaredkay,

I can help you get the Pay Now button added on your electronic invoices.

If the Pay Now link becomes unavailable on your online invoices, it's possible that the email preference is set to HTML or Plain Text. Let's try checking your Company Settings if there are changes made to your Sale Preferences. Follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Choose Account and Settings.
  3. Tap the Sales menu.
  4. Click the Online Delivery section.
  5. In the Additional email options for invoices drop-down , choose Online invoice.
  6. Select Save, then Done.

You can also try these steps on a private browser. Here are some shortcuts you can try:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Internet Explorer: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

If it works, you can switch back to regular browsing then clear your browser's cache.

Here's a great article you can check to know more about adding the payment link on your invoice: How to let my customer pay their invoice online

That should rectify the issue, @jaredkay. Please let me know how it goes or if you need further assistance. You got me here to help you anytime. Have a good one!

Pay button for invoice...where do I find this? it is not showing up when i create an invoice

This option is not displaying for me on the Mac version either.  I have set up an account and successfully linked it.  Under Customers -> Credit Card Activities -> Link Merchant Account to Company File, it says 'Merchant Services Enabled'.  However, when creating invoices, there is no option for Pay Now.  Please advise....thank you.

Hello there, @RagNr.

The steps in linking your payments account will only link your Merchant Services account with your company file, so we'll be able to download your payments directly to your company. However, this won't give your customers the capability to pay their invoices online.

At this time, QuickBooks for Mac doesn't have the option to add the Pay Now link, which will enable them to pay via ACH or credit card. I can see how this feature would be beneficial to your business, and I'm preparing a feedback submission to our Product Development Team right now. They place a lot of value in the ideas provided by users, like yourself, when deciding on how best to improve QuickBooks.

Drop me a comment below if you have any other questions. I'll be happy t help you out. Wishing you and your business all the best!

We don't want you to feel this way, @kileyiris.

Yes, the Pay Now option is available for QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Mac 2019. Let's connect your payments account to your QBDT software so your customer can pay you online. You can follow these steps below.

In your QBDT software:

  1. Go to the QuickBooks menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click Merchant Service
  4. Simply click Sign In.
  5. Enter your merchant service login, then select Sign In.
  6. Click Authorize. Then you’ll see the ✓ Merchant Service Enabled.

You can also read this article for more details: Connect your Payments account to QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

Once done, you can now invoice your customer and let them pay online.

Additionally, I got you this article that you can use for reference, This can guide you through the detailed steps in making your brand unique: Use and customize form templates.

Please don't hesitate to leave a comment if you have other concerns. I'm always here ready to help you. Have a great day and take care!
