Scheduled Reports Failing/UAC issue?

I understand the impact of any delay in resolving this on-going issue, @Ace2020.

Currently, our product engineers are still working on the investigation to determine its root cause. In the meantime, you'd want to manually run and email the report if you're still getting the warning once you adjust the UAC setting. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Choose Memorized.
  3. Select the Memorized Report List.
  4. Type the Report name you want to assign the report.
  5. Click the Display
  6. On the upper corner tap E-mail, choose either send the report as Excel or send the report as PDF.

Once completed, you can go to the run memorized report to double-check it.  Also, you can read through this article about creating, accessing, and modifying memorized reports for your reference: Create, access and modify memorized reports

Lastly, I'd recommend contacting our Technical Support team. This way, you'd be added to the affected user's list. Just make sure to provide your full name, updated email address and the investigation number: INV-12177. Rest assured once updates are available, you'd be notified through an email. Here's how to contact us:

  1. Go to the Help icon.
  2. Click the Contact Us button.
  3. Enter your concern in the What can we help you with field.
  4. Hit Let's talk.
  5. Choose the Get a call option.
  6. Fill out the necessary fields.
  7. Click the Confirm my call button.

We appreciate your patience as we work on permanently resolving this issue. Know that you're always welcome to leave a post if you have any other concerns.

Scheduled Reports Failing/UAC issue?

I use a program called System Scheduler by Splinterware.  I use the free version.  It emulates my keystrokes to run and email reports every evening.  It runs the reports and then uses outlook to send them.  I move the the reports I want to run to my favorite report list and run them from there.  It has been running for a couple of months very reliably.

Scheduled Reports Failing/UAC issue?

It is Nov 23 2020 and this issue still persists. This is ongoing for the better part of a year.  While invoices email just fine but the Scheduled Reports don't, why don't' they just adjust code to be such that the scheduled reports send using the same mechanisms as the manual invoicing emails do?

I do appreciate the QB team members posting the manual workarounds, thank you for that .

@aiannarelli :  Thanks for that suggestion.  I had once heard of something called AutoIT that I think was similar, but perhaps your setup is the route to take here :)

Scheduled Reports Failing/UAC issue?

Thank you for raising your concern here in the Community, @VIT

At this time, the issue of sending email for scheduled reports in QuickBooks Desktop is still ongoing. Rest assured that our product engineers are looking for a permanent fix on this.

As stated by my colleague IamjuViel above, you can manually run and email the memorized report as a workaround.

If you haven't yet, I suggest contacting our Phone Support Team. This way, they can add your company to the list of affected users and provide this investigation number for easy tracking: INV-12177. Also, you'll get an update about the resolution status once the issue is fixed.

To reach them, please follow the steps below:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Go to the Help menu, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue, then select Let's talk, and then choose a way to connect.

For now, you can visit our blog site so you'll be able to get the latest news about QuickBooks and what our Product Care Team is working on.

Thank you for your patience while we work for a fix. Please keep in touch if there's anything else I can do to help you succeed with QuickBooks. I'll be more than happy to assist you again.

Scheduled Reports Failing/UAC issue?

Hello Mark R -

Thank you for the update.  I will continue to await for the QB team to fix this flaw.  Also, thank you for the tip on manually printing the reports, generating an email to every project manager and emailing the reports rather than QB automating this process.  That will most certainly be a big help for me.

I have added myself to the affected user each time I have received this same answer back.  I will do it again today as soon I finish up the rest of my work and manually print the reports to PDF and email them to the team.

Your timely response to this issue from earlier this year is appreciated.

Scheduled Reports Failing/UAC issue?

I have this same problem.  On Dec 8, I was able to set up and send the scheduled reprots.  Today I made a new report, and set it to go; but get the error message at thetop of the scheduled reports screen "UAC is set to High"  but in Windows 10, I go to UAC and it is clearly set at LOW.

Has anyoen found a work-around???

Thanks!

Scheduled Reports Failing/UAC issue?

Looks like I'm not the only one who came looking for an answer to the UAC error. I was happy to find an article which said the problem had been solved. Nope. Why is it labeled as such?

I feel like I should reply and let others know how I was able to get the scheduled reports to work. I began to think that there must be another way to turn UAC off, other than the Control Panel method. A simple search led me to a website which lists four methods for turning off UAC. I'll list it here.

https://www.minitool.com/news/how-to-disable-uac-windows-10-004.html

I used Option 3: Disable UAC Group Policy, which did the trick. After a reboot, I no longer received the error upon opening the Scheduled Report Center. I'm guessing the Control Panel method didn't turn UAC completely off? Anyway, I hope this solution works and helps someone!

Don't say you have all hands on deck when it's still an issue that remains open after a year. This was an advertised offering that doesn't work. You've duped your customers and just trying to wait us out.

Completely agree! This level of corporate dishonesty is going to make me move to another software suite. They're clearly incompetent or liars and just want the support to run out and move us all to QBO.

You just lost a customer QB. Bravo.

Still not solved 2+ years later.  I know, I know, Intuit is still "investigating' the issue.  Longest investigation ever - you guys should work for Congress.  Let me know if there is honestly and update on this.

It's now June 2022, and QB tech support confirms that this is STILL an open issue, even with QB Desktop Pro 2022.  (They have a refund department and the sales department can issue credits to dissatisfied customers.)

Scheduled Reports Failing/UAC issue?

Hello
I am having a similar kind of issue in my QB.
the time shown for the next scheduled report updates to the following hour each time an hour passes. No errors are shown, the reports are just never sent. I can manually send reports without a problem but I have around 40 companies and I need to send multiple reports from each.
We have no soluation from QB so if anyone has a soluation then let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Scheduled Reports Failing/UAC issue?

I appreciate you for joining us here in the thread, @rajapati Rahul. I'll share some details about sending the scheduled report in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). This way, you can get through this and successfully send your reports.

A possible reason it didn't work is that you're accessing the company file in multi-user mode, or there's another company file open. Please be aware that at this time, the feature is not designed to work in a hosted environments that have roaming profiles. With that said, scheduled reports will only work in single-user mode.

Feel free to visit this article for more information about sending scheduled report in QBDT: Set up and modify Scheduled Reports.

Additionally, I've got you this article in case you'd like to modify memorized reports in QBDT: Create, access and modify memorized reports.

You can also check this page in case you encounter issues with your data in your company file: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file.

@Prajapati Rahul, Know that you can also post here in the Community space if you have any additional QuickBooks-related concerns. Our door is open 24/7, and we'll be happy to assist you again. Take care, and have a great weekend!

Scheduled Reports Failing/UAC issue?

I am also having t he same UAC error message when trying to send reports to my staff. I have had two chats this afternoon and one 30 minute phone call and they ended up the same way. I need to purchase a support package. Why I would need to do this for an issue that goes back 4+ years, I do not understand.

I have reset my UAC to off, restarted my computer, restarted QBooks, tried different reports, nothing works. What do I need to do to get the function to work with my QuickBooks Premier Nonprofit 2021 edition?

Scheduled Reports Failing/UAC issue?

Hello there, @LAltovilla.

You need to make sure you met the requirements to send scheduled report, so you get the function working in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). I'll gladly share further details about this below and guide you on how you can mail your reports accordingly.

Scheduled reports are sent once the following requirements are achieved:

  • The computer you set up the scheduled report on is running and NOT in sleep or hibernate mode.
  • Make sure User Account Control is turned OFF.
  • QuickBooks is running.
    • A company file with scheduled report should be open.
    • If you have scheduled reports on multiple company files, NO Company file should be opened.
  • QuickBooks is updated to the latest release.
  • The company file is in single-user mode.
  • An email account is a setup up in QuickBooks.
  • You have the keep QuickBooks running for quick startups preference disabled.

Moreover, you can also opt to get help from your IT guy to check for restrictions.

In case the error continues, even after meeting all the requirements above, you can prepare and mail your reports manually. To do this, here's how:

  1. Open the report you need.
  2. Make the necessary customization.
  3. Tap the Email dropdown, then select either to Send the report as Excel or PDF.

Also, QBDT provides different reports to cater your business needs. If you wish to know more on how QuickBooks generates reports, you can check out this article: Understand reports.

Please feel free to leave a comment below if you have other reporting concerns or questions about managing your business growth and transactions in QBDT. I'm always ready to help. Take care, @LAltovilla.
