QB had done it again. Access to QB Advance showed up when I signed on to QB. The problem is I didn't have an option to not use it at all. I go sign up for 30 day trail or buy it outright. These guy just don't get it. $150.00 per month is way to expensive for the small hometown business.
It's a pleasure to see you again the Community, @beneeley.
I'm here to help make sure this is taken care of, but I have some questions about your concern first.
Just to verify, what specific part are you seeing the QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advanced message? Is it after you enter your QB credentials? Is it also asking you to select the company you want to open when you sign in? I appreciate if you can provide a screenshot or additional details. This will help me make sure that I can give you the best resolution.
I'm looking forward to your response, @beneeley. Take care and have a good one.
I have the same issue. This is a 30-day QB Advanced Trial that no one asked for. How do we disable the trial and go back to our original paid subscription?
I saw this response from QB in another thread. My impression is that we have to wait it out. Very frustrating.
"If you're referring to QuickBooks Online Advanced free upgrade, the QuickBooks will automatically revert back to the previous version after the free upgrade period."
Hi there, cwilsonv.
Thanks for following up on this thread. I'd like to provide some additional information about the QuickBooks Online Advanced free trial period.
Intuit is providing users with the opportunity to give Advanced a try for 30 days, free of charge. This will give you the time to test out this new version, explore new features, and decide if it would be a good match for your business needs.
If you do not want to upgrade, you will need to accept the trial and then you can immediately downgrade to your original subscription level. Once you've done the upgrade, here's how to get back to your plan:
1. Click the Gear icon in the top right corner.
2. Select Account and Settings.
3. Choose the Billing & Subscription tab.
4. Click Downgrade in the plan details section.
This article offers additional details on downgrading your account: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Help-Articles/Downgrading-your-subscription/m-p/185873.
With this info you won't have to wait out the 30 days and can get back to business as usual. I'll be here if you have any other questions.
Enough to make we want to go back to using a spreadsheet. It won't let me downgrade, but gave me a number to call and now I am waiting for a person.
Hello, mfmadsen.
I appreciate you joining in on the conversation.
Rather than attempting to downgrade directly through your account, or waiting on hold, I've got an article for you that offers details for a different route to downgrade. You can view it here: https://www.firmofthefuture.com/content/update-on-the-quickbooks-online-advanced-free-upgrade-period....
There is also more info about the Advanced Trial period further explained in the link.
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any other questions.
Thank you MorganB--your link worked (after two attempts). Blessed relief from the neon on-screen banners and "try it" icons littered on my screen! I appreciate the fix, but shame on Intuit (again) for its heavy-handed and tone-deaf actions in pushing new "features" and "upgrades" on its loyal customers. QBO is an accounting program, but management and developers seem to think it's like FaceBook or Instagram and keep implementing unrequested changes without fixing longstanding bugs or implementing much-needed basic accounting functions. It's like the company is run by a 19 year old social media addict addicted to Candy Crush. Grow up Intuit and act like a professional business program!
Thanks for following up on this thread, audiobrad59. I'm glad to hear the steps in the link I provided worked for you.
I also appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this matter. I'll let the Product Development Team know about your feedback and suggestions.
The Community always has your back if your ever need assistance again in the future. Have a great Monday.
I received the same thing, very annoying. Now it is reflected in the billing (with the promotional credit).
Did not ask for it and really don't want it.
Would like it removed ASAP.
First Method suggested - to choose "downgrade" - gave a number to call to walk you through it.
This method gives a "something's not quite right here" and "it's probably us".
This is getting very frustrating.
Hello, SG_Commexis.
Thanks for joining the conversation. I'd be glad to help you with getting back to your original subscription level.
To downgrade, you'll first need to accept the Advanced trial period. Once this is done, you can downgrade immediately by:
1. Clicking the Gear icon in the top right corner.
2. Select Account and Settings.
3. Choose the Billing & Subscription tab.
4. Click the Downgrade link and follow the next few prompts.
This article provides additional information on downgrading your account: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Account-management/Downgrade-your-QuickBooks-Online-subscrip....
If this method still doesn't work, I recommend using the steps listed in this article to get back to business as usual: https://www.firmofthefuture.com/content/update-on-the-quickbooks-online-advanced-free-upgrade-period... .
I'll be here to help if you have any other questions.
When I try going through the gear to downgrade, I get a pop up asking me to call Call us at [removed], to "walk me through" downgrading.
When I go to: https://c3.qbo.intuit.com/app/changeplan
(after the 5th try (1st 4 being error messages)
I get a message about all the features I won't be able to access (part of advanced that I was not using anyway), but then I get a message: "Integrations with your third-party apps may also be affected. Review your apps in the My Apps tab"
When I go to my apps, the only apps there are ones I had prior to the trial, so if I downgrade, will these be affected?
Thank you for those additional details.
This message is to let you know your apps could possibly be affected if the plan you're downgrading to doesn't support the feature your apps rely on. Since you had the apps prior to the trial, no changes will be made. The applications and information from them that has been added to your QuickBooks Online account will still be there.
Let me know how things look afterward.
That doesn't work the only way to downgrade is to call in and we can walk them through the process
Thanks for joining the thread, @JP.
A user certainly has the option to call in and be walked through the process by Support. Alternatively, they can follow the steps included in the article linked by my friend, @MorganB.
As always, I'm here if you should have any questions. Hope you have a good weekend.
I agree completely! There are so many additional reporting functions many of us desperately need and have requested! Listen to your community. I can't tell you how many times I've searched "how do I [XYZ] in QBO and get a generic, "QBO doesn't offer this" or a user provides a "try running these 3 reports, combine them, filter various ways and now (maybe) you have an accurate report with the data you are looking for." Ugh.
Thanks for posting in the thread, @Alevin88. The Development team takes into consideration the suggestions provided by users and the Community when looking at ways to improve QuickBooks products and services.
I've submitted feedback for your request for additional reporting functions in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This is sent directly to the previously mentioned team.
Since reporting is an important feature for you, I wanted to take a moment to mention that QuickBooks Online Advanced includes Advanced Reporting powered by Fathom, which can be used to gain insight into how your company is performing. You can locate additional information about this feature at the following link: Smart Reporting powered by Fathom FAQs.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Have a good one.
I think the root of the issue is that we should not have to waste our time to follow instructions to "downgrade" back to our original plan, which apparently has led to errors and more time spent on support phone calls, just because QB decided to force the free trial on everyone. That was a poor call on Intuit's part.
Thanks for the info. Looks like smart reporting is more of a macro picture of things. I am looking for more control at the data included in the reports you already have at a micro/transactional level. Ex. Aside from the "payments received in last 30 days, there is no report that let's me run a longer time period and show BOTH the invoice date and the day payment was received."
Also, being able to add client location info (state, zip, county, etc) into transaction reports would be remarkable helpful to help audit sales tax and other sales figures on a state by state basis.
There are plenty of others but these are the immediate 2 that come to mind.
It sure would have been better for QB to spend its time fixing the time-wasting annoyances and bugs such as inability to change a product from inventory to non-inventory, inability to DELETE a product or customer, and inability to write a simple work order, rather than forcing an unrequested, unwanted "upgrade" at more than twice the price with a bunch of unneeded features. This is typical of the QB experience. Doubly annoyed at being stuck with QB as the only online accounting system that integrates with some of our other necessary platforms.
Once i called they gave me a website address, change the word homepage in the https link word to changeplan, for example https://qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage make homepage say https://.qbo.intuit.com/app/changeplan
THIS IS [removed]
Well said. Add to this, while I was trying to get rid of this garbage, I was also presented with a pop up offering a Quickbooks Business Capitol loan. I hate Intuit for this very reason.
Horrible customer service at QB. Makes me want to go back to our old vendor honestly. We were presented into this 'Opt-Out' upgrade. Called QB and spent 30 minutes trying to get our regular plan back. The rep spent almost the entire time trying to convince us to upgrade.
For the last year we have really liked working with QB and its reps. You ruined that all in one failed marketing attempt to get us to buy something we do not need. Nice going!
