What is the limit of items in a custom field drop down list?

Hello there, @lessenberry-anim.

Let me share some information on how the custom field works in QuickBooks.

When setting up a drop-down list custom field, you can add up to 100 options or items. Once you used-up all the available drop-downs, the Add item link will no longer be clickable.

Is there any way to have more than 100 items in the custom field dropdown list?

What is the limit of items in a custom field drop down list?

Hello Zalmen. We understand that every business has unique requirements, and the standard functionalities might not completely align with your specific needs.

At present, QuickBooks Online has a restriction that constrains the custom field dropdown list to a maximum of 100 items only.

We are consistently working on enhancing our software capabilities. We encourage you to share your insights with our product development team so they might consider your suggestions and potentially include them in upcoming updates.

Here's how:

  1. From the Custom fields page, click Give feedback.
  2. Enter your thoughts in the What could we do better field?
  3. Click Send.

I'm also adding this article if you wish to modify the custom field you have created: Manage custom fields.

You can mention my name in the Community thread if you have further questions about navigating your account or need assistance with QuickBooks-related inquiries, Zalmen. I'm available to respond promptly.
