If you have Class tracking turned on, you can set QB to assign a class to each transaction, OR to each LINE on a transaction. Go to Gear/Account and Settings/Advanced/Class Tracking and select each LINE instead of each transaction.

Yes, class tracking is available in QB Enterprise. I'd love to guide you in setting this up.
Class tracking helps you to track your items or transactions easily. You'll first need to turn on this feature before using it. Please follow these steps:
Once done, you'll now be able to assign classes depending on which items or transactions you want to track.
Also, you can add classes by going to the Class List. Let me show you how:

I need to run a report showing open invoices by class, but I do not assign a class to an entire invoice. Each line item has it's own class. I need to know how much is open per class. Is there a way to do this?
