What is happening with the funds being held sum of $1124.04?

Hello there, @Angel420. Let me share a few insights about what's happening with withheld funds and help you go over them to identify what you need to do to fix the issue.

When you have QuickBooks Payments, you can take and process payments in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Once funds are withheld, this means we need to review them to protect the interests of all parties involved in the process.

Some common reasons for withheld funds are the following:

  • When your payment processing exceeds the established maximum dollar amount expected on your account.
  • When a transaction is processed after several authorization attempts and failures.
  • When certain transactions require verification of your business type to ensure it is compliant with the Intuit Acceptable Use Policy.
  • When our systems identify processing patterns that pose a risk to any of the parties involved: You, your customer, or Intuit.

You'll see the word "Withheld" under the Method column once payment is on hold. With this, you need to check your email at the address you use to sign in to the Merchant Service Center to give you specific steps to fix and rectify any issues. Follow them or submit any necessary documents as soon as possible.

Then, you can also check the history of the payment by visiting your account in the Merchant Service Center. It keeps a complete record of your payment activity. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to the Merchant Service Center.
  2. From the homepage, select Activities & Reports.
  3. Choose Deposits80.PNG
  4. Select the date range in the Dates field.
  5. Click Search81.PNG

After the payment is reviewed (within 2 business days), it'll be deposited into your account. Please know that some banks hold onto funds after we deposit them. With this, you'll need to work with them for additional verification steps.

Once your payments are downloaded to your QBO account, all you have to do is categorize them. This way, you can keep your financial data accurate. To learn more about it, you can check out this article: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Also, you may want to check out this article as your reference in case you need to learn more on how QuickBooks Payments handles your deposit and funds: Find out when QuickBooks Payments deposits customer payments.

Let me know how it goes in the comments below. If you have other concerns about managing funds in QBO, I'm always around to help. Take care and stay safe, @Angel420.
