Hi,
I have Quickbooks plus and the schedule email option does not appear when I click the Edit dropdown from the Custom report I want to schedule.
Is there something else I need to do to make this option work?
Thanks,
Ainsley
Let's perform some steps to fix your recurring transaction, AinsleyMarie.
Normally, you'll be able to see all your recurring transactions after you've created them on this page. I've attached a screenshot for your visual guide:
You'll want to follow these troubleshooting steps if you're not seeing the transaction. There are times your browser is full of frequently accessed page resources that may cause some unusual responses. To isolate this, you can log into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account in a private window (incognito). Here's how:
Once done, you can re-create the transaction and then double-check if you'll be able to see the template. If so, return to your default browser and clear the cache to speed up the loading process. Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. However, if the issue persists, try using other supported browsers.
Furthermore, learn from this article on how you record a payment for your customer. Record Invoice Payments In QuickBooks Online.
Keep me posted if you have any questions about scheduled transactions. I'll be right here to help.
Hi, I have this set up and when it's emailed to me, it contains no data. What am I doing wrong? The report runs just fine when I'm logged into Quickbooks.
Thank you for joining this thread, @cmichelcarter. Let’s sort out your concern with emailing your reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
We can perform some basic troubleshooting steps to isolate this matter. This could be a browser related issue. Stored cache can cause unexpected behavior while using the application.
Here are the keyboard shortcuts to open a private browser:
If it works, kindly proceed with clearing your cache. This helps improve the performance of the application. Then, if the issue persists, you can refer to this article for other supported browsers while using QBO.
The second step is to ensure that your PDF reader is up-to-date. Lastly, you can repair the reader to fix the issues with the program.
Here's how:
Please keep me posted regarding this matter. I’ll be around to lend a hand for help. Have a great day!
Hello - I used to have access to this feature but no longer do. I am guessing this changed when I downgraded to the basic QBO package from the one I used to use through my bookkeeper. I continue to receive reports by email that I had set up in the past and am unable to cancel these. There are new reports I would like to automatically receive by email on a recurring basis instead.
Hi DS-FHF,
You’re right that the basic package, Simple Start, doesn’t have the option to set a schedule and email information for a memorized report. Therefore, you shouldn't receive an email after downgrading anymore.
I recommend contacting our QBO Support about this, so they can pull up your account in a more secure environment and investigate this behavior. The steps to reach them and their office schedules are in this article: QuickBooks Online Support.
On the other hand, you can check out the article comparing the list of reports per QBO package. Just an additional reference.
I'm just around if you need more help with QuickBooks Online. Have a good one!
Tried making a new Custom Report so I could set it up for scheduled email, but after making the report, I only see "Delete" under the actions column instead of "Edit" like it shows in your instructions and on my older reports.
Is there something I need to change in setting up the custom report so that it is editable (and thereby the scheduling option is available?
Good afternoon, @DGxAnt.
Thanks for taking the time to follow the thread and sharing your concerns.
Since you're not seeing the option to edit the report, you can click on the report and hit Customize report in the top right corner of the screen. Then, you can save those changes. Once the changes have been saved, the report will have the correct data when you open it again. Saving the customization again will play the same role as editing the report.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I'm always around to lend a hand. Take care!
The instructions you provided don't work for me. When I look at actions under a Custom Report, I only get the option to Export As PDF, Export A Excel, Delete. Nothing about emailing. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for getting involved with this thread, cbdoc.
To turn on your Set email schedule option for custom reports, you'll have to use their Edit option.
Here's how:
I've also included a detailed resource about setting email schedules for custom reports which may come in handy moving forward: Set schedule & email information for a memorized report
Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a wonderful day!
Is there a specific license required for this functionality? I simply wanted to send my P&L and Balance sheet, so I saved both as customized reports, however when I go to 'Custom reports' and select 'edit' I'm only able to change the report name. Nothing for schedule appears. Any advice? See attached.
Welcome to this thread, Alphabetic.
I want to make sure you're able to make necessary changes to your reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
You'll want to review your login permission as there are different levels of access when logging in to an account in QBO. Before doing so, make sure you are the admin of the account. If not, you'll need to ask the admin to update your user permission.
Here's how to manage user access:
I'm adding these great resources to become more familiar with the different user types in QBO:
If the setup is correct and you're still unable to edit the reports, let's do the following steps to fix this. This behavior is likely caused by a cache-related problem. In this case, you can rule this out by using an incognito or private browser:
Next, log in to your QuickBooks Online account and try assigning an expense to the customer/job again. When you're able to do so, you'll want to go back to the regular browser and clear the cache. Close any instances of your browser to complete the process. Another thing you can do is to use other supported browsers.
Also, I have articles here about managing reports in QBO for your reference:

I don't know if you got this fixed or not - but the real answer is that the report must either be NOT in a group of reports. If in a group, you can only schedule to send the entire group, not just one report.
I hope this helps,
Kathie

Yup! This would be great but intuit programmers don't program for accountants. It's obvious. And 5 years after this suggestion and it's still not an option. So they also don't take suggestions for accountants that are using the software either. Geez intuit.......
