Buy nowI have many rules set up for my bank feed imported transactions. Some of them show up as "changed by rules" and some show up at "auto." For those that show up at "auto" I am unable to add a class - the field won't respond. How do I fix this? I am having to go through and individually mark each one as "not a match" and then re-enter in the info & assign the class.
Good day, @cvillepinball.
Thanks for sharing a screenshot and the complete details of your concern. I'm here to share some information about the imported bank transactions in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
When a transaction has an Auto status in the Bank Feeds Center, this means that you have existing transactions that were matched with the imported ones automatically. Currently, the option to edit or add more details to these transactions is unavailable.
In the meantime, you may continue marking them as Not a match. Then, add them again to assign classes as a workaround.
In case you need it, I'll add these articles that tackle managing bank feeds and rules in QBDT:

This makes no sense. There are no transactions that match the existing ones that are marked as auto in the import list. There are just tons of transactions that are marked as auto for no reason.
I don't know if my first reply made it through. This makes no sense as there are many transactions listed as auto in the import list but no transactions in an account in the list of accounts.
Furthermore, when I click "not a match" on some of them, I get "Error: QB match not found"
Is there no way to indicate "not a match" on a batch of transactions? Must I sit here and have to click twice on every single transaction that is incorrect?
Thanks for coming back, cvillepinball.
As FritzF mentioned, the option to edit or add more details to the transactions for Auto status in the Bank Feeds Center is unavailable. What we can do to match transactions with the existing ones is to delete and recreate the bank rules in QuickBooks. Here's how:
Then, recreate the bank rules for Bank Feeds again. How your bank transactions show in the Bank Feeds Center depends on how your bank categorized them when transferred into QuickBooks. Additionally, I've also included this article for the troubleshooting steps on how to fix some of the OL and OLSU Bank Feeds errors in QuickBooks Desktop.
If the same thing happens, you may continue marking them as Not a match and add them again to assign classes. Once done, please contact our Technical Support Team to help you with this issue.
