How to change a bank account

Hi there, @dong-annie33. I've got all the steps you'll need in changing your bank account.

To clarify, are you trying to change your bank account information connected to QuickBooks? You can update it on the Banking page.

Here's how:

  1. Click Banking from the left menu.
  2. Select the Edit ✎ icon for the bank account you want to update.
  3. Choose Edit account info.
  4. Enter your updated bank info and click Save and connect.

Once completed, the system will try to connect with your bank to verify your information. Once you see a confirmation message, select I'm done, Let's go!. You can read through this article for more detailed steps: Update your bank account sign-in information.

If you're trying to change your bank information on your payroll account, you can go to the Payroll Settings. Here's our guide for the detailed steps: Change payroll bank account.

Lastly, if you want to switch the bank account that QuickBooks Payments puts customer payments into, this option available on your company settings. Refer to this article for more info: QuickBooks deposits payments info.

Swing by here if you have other questions about this or if you're referring to something else. I'll be more than willing to help. Have a nice day.

How to change a bank account

Hello, 8754.

It's possible this might be caused by a corrupted file cache stored in your browser, that's why you're unable to view the Banking menu on the left panel.

We can do some troubleshooting steps to rule this out. Let's open your QuickBooks Online account in an incognito or private browser. This mode will not save your browsing history and will also help isolate any web issues.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Shift

If it works fine, you can go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Clearing cache fixes certain problems, like loading or formatting issues on sites. It also helps pages to load faster. Please make sure to restart your browser afterwards.

You can also use a different supported browser as an alternate solution.

I want to ensure you're able to get back to business, so please feel free to let me know how it goes. Cheering you and your business to continued prosperity.

Thanks for joining the thread and let me share some information about Banking tab in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Knackersjewels.

It looks like you have the new Banking interface in QuickBooks. This is why you don't see the In Banking tab anymore. In the new interface, you'll see the Transactions tab instead of Banking. See the screenshot for your reference:

If you can't access the Transactions tab as well, we can log in to your account using an incognito browser. Private browser prevents saving cache and cookies that sometimes cause errors when running frequently visited websites. Here are the useful shortcut keys you can use to access one:

  • Ctrl+ Shift + N for Google Chrome RCV_0-1705452854614.png

  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Mozilla Firefox RCV_1-1705452854623.png

     and Microsoft Edge RCV_2-1705452854804.png

  • Command + Shift + N for Safari RCV_3-1705452854845.png

If it works, return to your default browser and clear its cache. Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. Switching to another compatible one to help rectify the issue.

I'm also adding this link for more tips about reconciliation to keep your books and accounts intact: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

How to change a bank account

Hello there, Svoboda.

I have the steps to change your bank account in QuickBooks Desktop.

Disconnecting bank feeds for an account is essential before linking your new account to the program. Please note that QuickBooks won't allow changes if there are pending transactions. Hence, ensure to match or delete them.

After that, you can now link your bank to the program. The method depends on what's available at your bank. It can be through Direct Connect or Web Connect.

Here's how to connect with Direct Connect:

  1. Head to the Banking menu at the top part of your screen.
  2. Select Bank Feeds, then Set up Bank Feeds for an account.
  3. Enter and select your bank in the Enter your Bank's name field.

Otherwise, refer to this article for guidance: Set up or edit bank accounts for Bank Feeds in QuickBooks Desktop.

Moreover, you might want to scan these resources to help you review your transactions to ensure your record is accurate:

Keep us updated on this thread if you have additional questions connecting your bank or other related concerns in QuickBooks Desktop. We can always lend a hand.
