Quickbooks Cash

I applied for QuickBooks Cash (bank account) a week or more ago for my QB Online.  It still says 'pending'. How long does this usually take to get approved and set up?

It says 'Payments' also, not sure what else that provides or how they're related.

Hello, @userbill.

Let me share some information on how the QuickBooks Payments and Cash account works.

QuickBooks Payments is an add-on feature that enables you to receive and process customer payments in QuickBooks. Once you apply for it and get approved, you get a QuickBooks Cash account and a debit card. You'd received your debit card within 3 - 5 business days.

Since your application is still pending for over a week now, I'd recommend contacting our Payments Support team. A specialist can securely look up your application to verify its current status. Here's how:

  1. Go to Contact Payments Support.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Online with Payments & Merchant Service Center.

Also, I've added these articles to learn more about Payments and QuickBooks Cash:

Ok I just tried that. Got bounced/transferred around between different chat organizations, never got an answer after wasting a bunch of time. Pretty disappointed in this. Sounds like even Intuit people don't know what this is.

Also, all I wanted was the business bank account. It was presented as if that was "no fee". But do I have to pay extra as this includes QB Payments? I don't need that, as I use WooCommerce/Stripe/Paypal to receive payments directly through my website.

This is not the type of service we want you to experience, @userbill

Let me share some insights about QuickBooks Payments.

As mentioned by my colleague, it is an add-on feature where you can accept credit card, debit, and ACH bank transfer payments and QuickBooks automatically categorizes each processed payment on your chart of accounts for you.

To get this add-on feature you’ll have to purchase a subscription for QuickBooks Payments.

You can check out this article for the Payment pricingQuickBooks Payments.

I’m adding an article for your additional reading about QuickBooks Payments: Learn more about QuickBooks Payments.

If you need further clarification, please let me know. I am always here to help. Keep safe.

I currently sell service-based subscriptions on my website. People sign up for six months of financial counseling, and WooCommerce Subscriptions takes care of it from there - capturing their payment method (credit card, debit card, Stripe, Paypal, etc) and automatically charging them each month.

So I'd like the bank account (Quickbooks Cash) because my current bank isn't great, but I don't see a need for QB Online Payments, unless you can show how I can replace WooCommerce Subscriptions without a lot of hassle or disruption, and a cost savings, for the same functionality. Is that possible?

I'd like to know the status of my application.

PS I'm a former IT guy and run my business through mostly Chrome. This website is extremely flaky as far as trying to sign in, getting chat support, etc. I hope that's being looked into. I click the Sign in link upper right, page refreshes, nothing happens. Sign in shows even though I'm already signed in (when I manage to be able to do that - a user interface flaw and confusing). If I accidentally hit Reply in this thread without signing in first, it doesn't ask me to sign in (flaw), it just throws everything I typed away. Concerning, as I'm asking you to be a focal part of running my business and handling my money?

Hello there, userbill. Thanks for letting us know your insights.

We'll need to have a payment subscription to use the QuickBooks Cash account. Once it's approved, you'll be able to set up your QuickBooks Cash account and use it. Since the first thing we'll have to do is to activate payments, we can go to the Account and Settings to connect your payment account.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Click Account and Settings under Your Company.
  3. Select Payments. In the QuickBooks Payment section, select Learn more

To make sure you'll not miss a single step, I would encourage check the complete details and steps in this article: Sign up for QuickBooks Payments. Also, I'll be added some articles below where you can gather more details on how you can use QuickBooks Cash in your account:

Thank you for the reply, but it's another red herring. When I do as you say, and the link you provided says, I see under Payments:

QuickBooks Payments Status
We are still looking over your application.
But check your inbox(and spam, too). We may have emailed you. If it’s not there, we’ll be in touch within the next couple days.

I checked my spam, etc and don't see an email. I originally signed up with my personal email, then changed it in Quickbooks Online to my business email, as well in my user profile in QBO, but somehow QB/Intuit continues to send me email to my personal email account (just got one saying my trial is half way used up). So many little frustrations trying to use this product, including on this community site just logging in or trying to figure out if I'm logged in!

Hey, @userbill

Thanks for reaching back out to the Community. The email that you've entered in the Account and Settings should be the email that you're receiving info about this application.

Did you receive an email to the business or personal one about the application status? If so, there will be steps on what to do next to finish or confirm the application process. If not, then you can contact our Custom Support Team to check on the application. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help icon in the top right-hand corner.
  2. Click the Contact Us button.
  3. Type in your question and press Let's Talk
  4. Scroll down and choose to Get a callback

Should you need any further assistance, feel free to ask. I'll always be around to help. Have a fantastic day!

I haven't received any email as far as my Quickbooks Cash and Payments application, at either email address. I checked spam for both also. Your status indicators all say that *you* are working on it, so that should mean there's no action currently on my part.

I do receive other emails at my *personal* email account, saying things like my trial is half over. So that worries me. I changed the Company email address in accounts in settings to my company email, and made sure that my user email in my user profile under Users is also my company email. So quickbooks online has my personal email stashed away somewhere.

I just tried the Help Chat from inside quickbooks online again to try to find the status of my application for cash/payments and again it was an hour of being passed around in circular fashion from one support team to another, no answers. Frustrating.

I am currently having the same issues as User Bill.  I applied on line for the Payment and Cash Accounts (even though I really just am interested mostly in the Cash Account) and I received approval for the Payment account, but I have yet to receive any kind of notification regarding the Cash Account.  It's been over a week and not one email.  I contacted customer service and they said it was still being reviewed.  Why did I not receive any notification that it was being reviewed and how long can I plan on waiting for this Cash Account to be approved or denied?  This Cash Account was one of the reasons I even signed up for Quickbooks on line.

Thanks for joining us here, Ricks.

It usually takes 3 to 5 business days before an approval is granted. Incomplete information or behind the scenes investigation might cause some delays.

I can see that you already reached out to our QuickBooks Payments Support about this. We need to take a look and verify your account to check the status of your application. However, were unable to do that in the Community because this is a public forum.

In this case, I would recommend reaching out to them again so they can ask for your account details. I'd also like to re-share these articles to get you familiar how this feature works once it's approved:
