We're unable to suggest a specific app to export the TXF files directly from QuickBooks to TurboTax. I'd recommend searching for it on the internet or seek out your accountant for suggestions. This way, we can ensure that the app is integrated with QuickBooks.
Once you're able to find the app, you can search for it in the Apps center and check if it was integrated with the product. Here's how:
To get more details on what data you can export from QuickBooks Online (QBO), please check out this article: How to Export Data out of QBO.
Let me know if you need further assistance with this. I'm always around to provide answers and clarifications to your questions. Have a great day ahead and take care.
Quickbooks has removed the option to export data from Quickbooks online to a backup copy to import into Quickbooks Desktop. They suggested you upgrade to Online Advanced for $150 per month which has a backup feature option
You can still convert data from QBO US to QBD US.
If you are using QBO Plus or a lower plan, utilize a 3rd party backup restore app
https://rewindio.grsm.io/quickbooks
QBO stops providing export data service for QBO to QBDT conversion purpose. Need to use 3rd party app to export/import data from QBO to QBDT.
For QBO backup, you can either upgrade to QBO advance for the backup function or use 3rd party app, such Rewind, but again those backup are stored in cloud not in your local drive.
Hope this helps.
FYI, QBO does not support the export data to convert data from QBO to QBDT anymore. This is confirmed by QBO customer service rep. The article is useless.
QB desktop for mac says it cannot allow the import because my GL account types do not match. I have literally been on the phone with payroll core and QB desktop for 4 1/2 hours. Everyone transfers to the other. Never had a problem with the old payroll.
I'll help you get back to business, @AB-68.
Let's make sure the accounts or fields are mapped correctly. You can make changes if need be. This way, you can import the transactions seamlessly.
Let me show you how:

I've been using Intuit Online Payroll (IOP) for years along with QBDT. I created paychecks and tax payments and was prompted to create an export file. Which was easily imported to QBDT. Now IOP has been moved to QBO. I recently created paychecks and was prompted to export the transactions. Worked fine. This was just about two weeks ago. Today, I created tax payments and there are no options to export. I went through FIVE chats and FOUR phone calls only to be shuffled around. Help??
Let me provide the information regarding exporting of paychecks, JackD1.
If you're using the Standalone Payroll Product, you can export payroll transactions to QuickBooks Desktop. Once you're subscribed to one, you'll have to set up the export preferences first. Then, you can export the payroll transactions or paychecks. You can check this article to guide you better: Export into QuickBooks Online or Desktop from Core, Premium, or Elite Standalone Payroll.
However, if you're using the QuickBooks Online Enhanced Payroll or Core, you're unable to export the paychecks alone. You'll have to export the whole data to QuickBooks Desktop.

Are you using QBO CA version (i.e EasyStart)? The tool only converts data from QBO US version to QBD US version. You will need extra effort or cost to migrate data from QBO CA version or other regions.
I have run the quickbooks export and used the migration tool. It all went along smoothly and I opened the account in QB desktop - however, when comparing - P&L reports they do not match at all - also looked at chart of accounts and they don't match up either. Something is woefully off about this import.

Where is this migration tool? It is no where to be found. I need to transfer from Quickbooks Online to Desktop Pro Plus.
Hi there, RB2021now. Thanks for reaching out to the Community.
You'll be able to download a copy of our QuickBooks Desktop migration tool after signing in to QuickBooks Online with a supported web browser, highlighting the URL in your address bar, and replacing anything after "/app/" with "exportqbodatatoqbdt".
The URL should look like this: https://cxx.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt
Once you search for that web address, you'll see an Export Overview window. From here, click Get Started, then select Download tool. Afterwards, it will begin downloading. When it finishes, run it to install it on your computer. Be sure to accept our license agreement and choose Complete as its type of setup.
You'll be able to find the steps for using your utility in our Export and convert your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop article.

If I download a clients information to the desktop version (From online), this process will not damage their online file? Having a hard time making sense of some of their entires, and I am better versed with desktop quickbooks.

I can share with you some details on what happens when you download or convert customer data in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), Lisa.
It will not damage your customer's online files if you convert their data to QBDT. However, there are certain exceptions.
Take a look at the following items:
Refer to this article for further information on how your data converts from QBO to QBDT, aside from your clients' information: Limitations when you convert from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.
To ensure your books match and the information is exported correctly, I suggest running the Profit and Loss report in QuickBooks Online. Then, compare it to the same report in QBDT on accrual basis. For more information, see Step 5 in this article: Export and convert your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.
Post a reply below if you have any further queries regarding downloading your clients' information or anything else. I'm always willing to assist. Have a fantastic day!
I am having this same problem right now and am very unhappy. I was told I could export to desktop because online has too many flukes. I'm paying for both versions. Paying IT company to try to fix the issue and I am 8 months pregnant so I need resolution

Do you need to convert data from QB Online US version to QB Desktop US version? You may have 3 ways:
1. The converter tool
2. A 3rd party migration tool (i.e TPExporter for Online, TPmporter for Desktop)
https://transactionpro.grsm.io/qbo
3. A 3rd party migration service.
