HOW DO YOU ADD A NEW BANK ACCOUNT

Adding a bank account is my specialty, mrhandy31. I'll gladly you show the way.

 

When you connect an account, QuickBooks automatically downloads and categorizes bank and credit card transactions for you. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions menu and choose Banking.Capture.PNG
  2. Click Add Account.
  3. Search for your bank or use the correct URL when you log in to your bank's website.Capture1.PNG
  4. Enter your bank's username and password.
  5. Choose the type of account.
  6. Choose how far back you want to download bank transactions.
  7. Click Connect.

 

In case you've already added the account to your Chart of Accounts, I'd suggest following these steps to connect it.

  1. Go to the Accounting menu and then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Find the account you want to connect to.
  3. Select the View register drop-down menu under the Action column.
  4. Click Connect bank.
  5. Follow the onscreen instructions.

 Also, if you can’t find your bank but still want to add your bank transactions to QuickBooks Online, you can manually upload them.

I'm adding the bank to quickbooks enterprise desktop, not online and I do not want to connect to the bank or upload transactions but just add the bank if possible.

I can see the urgency of this matter, and I want to ensure I can provide you with the appropriate resolution to your concern. To add a bank inside QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), you'll want to go to your Chart of Accounts. I'll gladly write down the steps and provide a screenshot to get you going:

 

  1. Access your QuickBooks Desktop company.
  2. Go to the Accountant menu, and then select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Below, click the Account and then choose New.
  4. Tick the Radio button beside Bank, and then click Continue.
  5. Enter all the necessary information.
  6. Once done, click Save & Close.

I need to add an additional account to quickbooks for the same organization but it is with a new bank and once set up I need to order checks with this new account information.

I look under both bank transactions as well as transactions tab and am not able to locate add bank

Hi!  When I first started with QuickBooks, there wasn't the variety of banks available, so I just typed mine in there and the computer eventually found it.  Also, you may be using a bank that is a subsidiary to another bank with a slightly different name so I would get out my bank account (or boot it up) to copy the exact name of the bank.  Hope that helps.

The previous representatives provided troubleshooting instructions for QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Desktop. If you are using QBO and have tried the initial solution, I recommend using incognito or private browsing mode to resolve browser-related problems in QBO.

 

You may use these shortcuts to enter private browsing mode:

 

  • Safari: CommandOptionP
  • Google Chrome: CtrlShiftN
  • Firefox or Internet Explorer: CtrlShiftP

 

In addition to this, you may consider clearing Intuit-specific cookies by simply clearing your browser cache. This action can help reset website settings that could be the cause of problems while using QuickBooks.
