Hello there, djdiscomark.
We can try logging in to an incognito window to determine if it's a browser-related issue and import google maps mileage from there. If you haven't tried it yet, you can follow the shortcut keys below, depending on what browser you're using:
If it works, we can go back to our main browser and clear the cache. This is to start your data fresh and help QuickBooks to work well. Lastly, you can use other supported browsers like Mozilla, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Safari. For Safari, make sure to use the latest one.
Also, I'm adding the articles below for additional information about importing mileage within your account and fixing issues:
Comment below if you have follow-up questions with QuickBooks. Take care always.
Thanks for the quick response! Tried importing via incognito in Chrome and then Edge and Firefox incognito too just for kicks. Same error. Also checked the zip file to confirm that there is in fact data for each month within the date range specified.
Other tips?
I appreciate that you've tried all the possible ways, @djdiscomark.

This issue is still happening. I wish there was a way to upload the JSON files directly.
This is not the impression we want you to experience when importing your trips from Google Timeline, Bluephantom.
The option to upload your trips from Google Timeline to the JSON files directly is unavailable. We need to use the Google Takeout link to import the trips. To learn more about this one, see the Import Google Timeline trips into QuickBooks Self-Employee (QBSE) article. Also, I've checked here on our and there's no reported case about this one.
If you already performed the steps provided by my colleague on this thread and to the Fix mileage tracking issues article, I'd suggest contacting our QBSE Customer Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and investigate what's causing this issue. I'm having the same issues, with zero help from the online support team. I have tried different browsers, & even extracting the zipped files & trying to make links for those. All to no avail. Super not stoked on this service.
Thanks for joining this conversation, @Garbageguy420.
I appreciate you following the steps shared by my colleagues in this thread. I'll make sure that this is taken care of for you.

I recognize the convenience of using Google Timeline as this lets QuickBooks calculate all your business miles. For now, you can manually log your mileage.
If the issue still persists, I suggest contacting our support team. They can pull up your account and check it further. I'll show you how:
To speak with an agent, you can type or say, "Talk to a human." From there, you can choose your preferred method. You can also contact them within this time frame: Monday to Friday, from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM and on Saturday, from 6 AM - 3 PM PT.

Please don't hesitate to update me on how it goes. I'm here anytime you have more concerns with importing mileage tracking. Have a great day.
It seems that QB's settings for importing data have not been updated since Google adjusted their folder/file organization in Takeout. It worked fine last year, but looking at my Takeouts from then and the ones I'm creating now, there are differences in the number of files and the names. This is a deeper IT issue on QB's side, and regular customer support isn't equipped to help.
Updating the QuickBooks settings for you to import mileage is my priority here, @WAKanost.
I'll help you make this happen as soon as possible. I have a workaround that you can follow to download your mileage data in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
I wish I can change the QuickBooks setting in my end so you can import your google maps mileage from takeout without any hassle. With this, I'd suggest contacting our Technical Support Team. They can create a ticket and forward it to our product engineers for further investigation. You can follow the steps provided above to reach them. Ensure to contact them within business hours to guarantee a quick response.
As a workaround, I recommend you to use the the Google Takeout link as my colleague mentioned above. Then don't forget to categorize your mileage. Click this link for the complete steps: Import Google Timeline trips into QuickBooks Self-Employed.

This is complete ignorance and laziness. Its been 5 years AND STILL ITS NOT FU*KING WORKING! Do your job. Allow a custom import options!... ABSOLUTELY NONE OF THE FU*KING Options works to import google maps trips. This alone will make open a lawsuit against you for a unstable, insecure and unreliable service YOU CHARGE MONEY FOR!
I understand the urgency of getting this fixed right away, @blueknight768.
Upon checking our database, we have an ongoing investigation about importing Google Maps trips. This means that other users are experiencing the same issue on their end. Please know that the product engineering team is already aware and working on finding a permanent fix as soon as possible.

WORKAROUND
I know this is frustrating. I just got off the phone with support and "its an issue that they are working on and it will be solved soon"
HAHAH
I did find a workaround!
https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/free-google-maps-timeline/mjjpapfcbfpgbkabmfkmacjfediepccp
At least my miles are added up each month!
I get the workaround but how does that help when the govenment come knocking? Intuit needs to fix this like YESTERDAY! This is a lawsuit waiting to happen!
How does this help this problem? I see no relation at all. The goal is to import all your trips AUTOMATICALLY into quick books self employed. This add-on just exports to CSV which google can already do internally.
DUDE FIX THIS SH*T!!!!
GOOGLE TRIPS CANNOT BE IMPORTED TO QUICKBOOKS SELF EMPLOYED!!!! YOU HAVE NOTHING THAT WORKS. NO FIXES NOTHINNNGGG!!!! You think you can keep copying and pasting the same garbage tutorial THAT DOES NOT WORK. You do this because legally you think if you respond it counts and you think you cant be sued. That's not true. Provide a real fix or im going to make sure I wont need to do my taxes.
