When using QBO the bank detail previously imported into the memo field. Starting this week the process only imports the last part of the bank detail into the memo field. Now I have to manually enter the information in the memo field.
Thanks for raising your concern here, @VTOH. We'll gladly help you enter the bank details in the memo field.
On the Banking section, there's an icon that you can click where the Copy bank detail to memo option is there. Let's ensure that it has a checkmark. Here's how:
However, if the field is checked, we recommend contacting your bank. Please know that QuickBooks will depend on the details provided by your bank, and reaching out to them is our best resort to clear things up if there are changes.
Additionally, we have articles here that can help you manage your banking transactions:

The setting states that it will copy the bank detail into the memo field. that is not happening. If you look at my screen shot you can see that the bank provided all of the details i need in the feed. The system is no longer copying the data into the memo.
Hello there, @VTOH.
My colleague Bryan_M provided the steps to set the Memo to populate bank details.
Have you tried the resolution provided? I hope his response resolves your issue.
If you have tried the above mentioned and have the same issue, I recommend contacting your bank. You can ask if there are any updates about the details they can share with QuickBooks. You can also ask if there are changes with some formats since QuickBooks depends on the information you bank shares.
For future reference, I'm adding this article about categorizing transactions in QuickBooks Online: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Let me know if you need further assistance with your transactions. I'm always here to help. Have a great day.
I am having the same issue and similar to the OP, the option is already selected to copy the bank detail to the memo line so that is not the solution.
I have followed the directions. It is not working.
Hello, coastalbookkeeping and VincentOH.
Thank you for reaching out to the Community. QuickBooks will only depend on how the bank transfers the data during transaction downloads. The bank has full control over deciding how information is sent and received by QuickBooks Online and determining the methods used to transfer data.
Also, at this moment, QuickBooks Online has transitioned to using OAuth for online bank connections. This change enhances security by eliminating the need for users to share their banking credentials with QuickBooks Online.
By adopting OAuth, QuickBooks Online ensures a more secure and standardized approach to connecting with online banking systems. This change enhances security and simplifies the connection process for users, as they no longer need to share sensitive information directly with QuickBooks Online.
Can you please provide me with the bank name you are currently using? Because the OAuth and the availability of online bank connections may vary depending on the country and the financial institutions supported by QuickBooks Online.

I would like to disagree. The information is provided in the bank feed. You can see the data in the screen shot below. This is for American Express.
Hi VTOH,
Thank you for providing a screenshot. I can see that only a portion of the Bank Detail is being copied into the Memo field, which is not the expected behavior.
Please know that we have an ongoing investigation about this matter. I recommend contacting our QBO customer support specialist so they can get your account details in a more secure environment and link it to the open ticket.
If you have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. Rest assured, the Community team remains available in this thread to provide continuous assistance. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we are committed to resolving this matter promptly.
I am also having the same issue and contacted QBO, they did not understand the issue. Mine seems to be with AMEX only. Please get this corrected. The information is in the bank feed under transactions and my field "copy to memo" is checked off. It is clearly there in Qbooks, but no longer transfers into the memo field. This is extremely frustrating. I just spent the last 3 hours manually entering memo items that should have already been in the system.
I was having the same problem with my Amex feed. After unchecking the "Copy bank detail to memo" box, I navigated to a different bank feed and then checked the box again. I then returned to my Amex Feed and the bank details are now populating in the memo field!
Nancy,
Mine is also only with Amex. I called today and gave them the INV number in the directions above. they now agree it is under investigation. If you give them the number they can link your account to the case and you should get updates.
OK so it was working.. As soon as I applied a date filter or used the search function within the feed, it stopped working.
I am having the exact same issue! Amex only. Just started this week.
This definitely seems like a QBO glitch that they need to get figured out rather than having everyone contact Amex.

Thank you but I have already contacted them yesterday and they did not seem to understand the issue. She said it would be investigated, but I don't know for sure This is my case number INV-90831.
Hi Nancy,
Thank you for keeping in touch regarding your banking concern. Allow me to chime in and provide clarification about the AMEX issue in QuickBooks Online.
The investigation number provided by the representative applies only to users having issues with the Memo field in the Sales section of QuickBooks. It doesn't include the problem with the bank detail not copying to the Memo field in bank feeds.
I've checked on my end and found an open investigation (INV-91350) specific to AMEX users. Our product engineers are already aware of the issue with the American Express Complete bank detail not copying to the Memo field when "Copy bank detail to the memo" is checked.
For now, a workaround for the bank issue is unavailable. Rest assured, our dedicated team is working diligently to get you back on track.
As we assess this, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Care Team again. They can add your company to the list of affected users to keep you in the loop about the investigation's status and its fix.
Our support for Plus, Essentials, and Simple Start is available from 6 AM - 6 PM PT (Monday - Friday) and 6 AM - 3 PM PT (Saturday). For Advanced, any time, any day.

Is there a resolution to this issue yet?
Thank you for getting back to us, @CompleteBalanceCPA.
The investigation of this issue is already resolved, and closed.
If you have the same error, I recommend clearing your browser's cache to isolate the issue.
The stored files in your browser are typically the source of unexpected behavior or failures in QBO. Your cache saves the files from many websites you visit, so you can quickly load the pages the following time. The browsing speed of websites like QBO, may be impacted if the cache is retaining too much data.
It's a good idea to check for issues brought on by a full cache when browsing anonymously because doing so prevents the cache from recording your browsing data.
If the steps above will not work, you can use supported browsers as an alternative.
If the given procedures are successful, I advise you to clear the cache in your browser to avoid utilizing outdated forms, safeguard your data, and improve the performance of our programs on your computer.
Once done and the issue persists, you can reach our Customer Support team to investigate further about the Memo no longer populating.

This is happening for me too. None of the suggested solutions helped.
@Dave226 researched this in depth and shared his insights:

Bank details are there, Copy bank detail to memo is checked. Notice answer is to get bank to provide details. Bank provided details are there the same as always. But quickbooks seems to have issue.
I can see the urgency of getting this resolved, @POPMom.
Currently, we have an ongoing investigation about bank details not copying to the Memo field even if the feature is enabled, the same as what you're experiencing in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Rest assured, our Engineering Team is aware of this and is working diligently to resolve it.
To get you in the loop on the latest updates on the issue, I encourage you to contact our Customer Care Team. This way, you'll receive email updates on the investigation's status and be notified once it is resolved. Here's how:
Please review our support hours to ensure we can address your concerns promptly.
Also, when you download transactions from your bank, you must categorize them into the proper accounts. You can create bank rules that automatically classify transactions for you to speed up the process.
I'm only a post away if you need further assistance managing your bank transactions in QBO. It's my pleasure to help. Stay safe.
yes, amex says it is a quickbooks issue
you can see the urgency, but it is still not resolved 5 months later.
