The inability to change column widths in the bank feed

I do not know what Intuit did but I swear they are trying to make this platform more and more unfriendly to use. Why do they make it impossible to fully ready the bank detail on the bank feed. It REFUSES to adjust so you can read everything.  With this, bank feeds disconnecting for no reason, it's defaulting payees to something completely irrelevant or defaulting the settings so it changes the category for similar transactions is making me want to switch all my clients over to another platform. STOP PLAYING WITH THINGS THAT AREN'T BROKEN

The inability to change column widths in the bank feed

Thanks for posting in the Community, @onetoughkitty.

You should be able to change the column widths in QuickBooks Online (QBO) bank feeds. To isolate this, try logging into your account using a private browser (incognito). There are times that the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, causing some unusual responses.

Here's how:

  • Press Ctrl Shift (Google Chrome).
  • Ctrl Shift (Firefox or Internet Explorer).
  • Control Option (Safari).

Once signed in, go back to the banking page to double-check.

If it works, return to your default browser and perform a clear cache. Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. However, if the issue persists, try using other supported browsers.

Just in case, I'll add these articles for future reference:

I want to make sure everything is taken care of for you, so let me know if you have any other issues or concerns by leaving a comment. I'm always happy to help. Have a great day!

The inability to change column widths in the bank feed

no joke, I have to uncheck "no wrap" in the css as a work around to column widths resetting to view the whole bank details. Ive cleared cookies and cache, incognito, blah blah.

on chrome every time you newly load the banking tab:

1. right clicking the word "bank detail" in the column heading and

2. choose 'inspect' in the popup window.

3. In the new "inspect" window; look at the bottom half. Scroll down 3 or 4 lines  of the left side 'styles' window. and uncheck the box next to:   white-space:no-wrap

Then at least you can view the whole bank feed for each line. I only do it when I'm categorizing tranx though.

/*

dgrid.dgrid-03 .dgrid-cell {
  1. line-height: 18px;
  2. vertical-align: middle;
  3. text-overflow: ellipsis;
  4. /* white-space: nowrap; */
  5. border: 0;
  6. background-color: #0097e600;

The inability to change column widths in the bank feed

I've had this same problem of not being able to adjust the column width in all of the reports.  The bars are there making it look like they're adjustable, but they aren't.  Please fix!

The inability to change column widths in the bank feed

We have lost columns in the Bank transactions. Not able to see suggested account or adjust column widths. "DATE" takes up half the page. How do we put it back like it was?  I know the thread is old but Spot On by original poster.

The inability to change column widths in the bank feed

I appreciate you for chiming in on this thread, vicin. I'm here to help you restore the suggested accounts, adjust column widths, and recover the lost columns in your Bank transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To begin with, to view suggested accounts or adjust column widths, let's switch your account to Accountant View. To do this, click Settings, scroll to the bottom, and select Switch from Business view to Accountant view. I've provided a screenshot to help you locate this option.

However, if the issue persists,  I suggest accessing your QBO account through a private browsing window to see if it's a browser-related issue. You can use the following shortcut keys to access incognito mode:

  • Safari: Shift + ⌘ + N
  • Google Chrome: Press Ctrl + ShiftN
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N

If this works, you can clear the browser's cache so the system can start fresh. If you get the same result, I recommend switching to a different supported browser.

For future reference, you can reconcile your account regularly so they always match your bank and credit card statements.

Please feel free to post here again if you have further questions about recovering the lost columns in your Bank transactions. I'm always here to assist. Have a great day.
