Thank you for posting here in the Community, @bentley76

There are a lot of banks supported by QuickBooks. I can help you add your other bank account in QuickBooks Online.

You can look up the name of the bank that issued your bank card, often known as the issuing bank. The name of the issuing bank can be found on the back of your card. "Chase," "HSBC," or "Bank of America" should suffice, while "Visa" might be overused.

Check this article on how to connect bank accounts and manage imported transactions for more information.

If you have any other questions or would like me to clarify anything else about adding your bank account, let me know by leaving a comment below. I'm always glad to help in any way I can. Have a good day.

Explore MT Online as a workaround. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed.

I'm not having any problem connecting quickbooks to my bank account. The problem is the data coming in from the bank is sometimes incorrect. My question is, what banks does quickbooks work with closely to ensure data comes in as it suppose to.

Hi @bentley76,

I appreciate you for getting back to us with some clarification. Allow me to step in and share some details about the Banking feature in QuickBooks Online.

We work closely with all the banks supported by QuickBooks. There's no specific financial institution that we provide special attention to in sharing data.

The banking data downloaded to our system will depend on your bank's website. Any maintenance, third-party app permissions, or errors on your website will affect the connection with QuickBooks.

Since we can't suggest which one is best to use, you can research banks that support third-party apps like QuickBooks. Review the data sharing capabilities and stability of their websites to ensure a steady connection.

You can also check this article for information on resolving bank error messages or missing bank data in QuickBooks: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Fill me in if you have more questions or concerns about connecting your bank accounts in QBO. I'm always around to lend a hand. Take care.

Is there somewhere I can look that list all of the banking institutions that allows syncing with Quickbooks Online?  I just don't want to pay for it and then not be able to sync my account information

Thanks for joining this thread, llc72.

I can provide a way to find out if your bank will be supported with QuickBooks Online. I would suggest utilizing the Test Drive company. This QuickBooks Online file is accessible to anyone interested in testing out features, and none of the information is saved after exiting. Thus, allows you to search for your bank to ensure it’s supported before you subscribe.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to this link:  https://qbo.intuit.com/redir/testdrive.
  2. Once you’re in, click on the Banking tab on the left pane.
  3. Select Add account and search for your bank.
  4.  As long as your bank appears on the list of search results, you’ll know it’s supported. Some banks track how many feeds you have connected to it, so be sure to only log in once you’re in your own QuickBooks company.

That should point you on the right track.

Here are articles you can read about setting up your online banking in QBO:

the test account feature doesn't work to search banks

Using the test account link and choosing add bank account doesn't result in any search results. Even all the major banks searched result in no response from the system. How can I see what banks work with Quickbooks without signing up for an account? I need a list before I give you any information. Thanks

Thank you for joining in on the thread, coolbeans19.

I'll help you check to see if your bank is supported, and we'll go through some steps to be sure you can search on your end, too. What's the bank's name by the way? Are you receiving an error? I just tried Chase, AMEX, and Capital One, and there were results.

To start with the steps, you'll want to sign in to QuickBooks using a private browser. This step disables its extensions and stops the cache from saving your browsing history.

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • MS Edge and Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If there is a search result, you can go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. If not, please try other browsers to see if we get the same thing. You can also sign up for a trial account and use it when searching for your bank.

I'm including these articles as your reference for your future tasks:

That is a totally evasive answer. My Citizens bank doesn't work well with quuckbooks either. I fear that their are many others that don't but we are not getting good answers.

So, What banks work without any issues?

I don't want to have to switch banks accounts 20 times!

Maybe all banks have problems?

So, are there any banks that there are no issues with as far as downloading data automatically?

@LilB

You can utilize a 3rd party connector as a workaround.

And how much per month does that cost?

I was just switched from People’s to M&T, who bought them, and M&T does not support Quickbooks online. I need to find a bank that does, fast!
any suggestions?

Explore a 3rd party connector as I mentioned earlier.

I got you covered, Tog2.

Let me help you send a request to add the M&T bank to our list of supported banks. The process of integrating a new bank feed may take some time. Our team will consider the number of requests and the approval of the bank itself. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Click on the Link Account.
  3. Search for the name of your financial institution.
  4. Tap the Request support for your bank link and enter your bank's web address (URL) in the field provided, then select Request.

While waiting We can also upload your bank transitions manually via CSV file. Here's an article you can refer to for more details about manually uploading transactions into QuickBooks Online (QBO). Once done downloading your data into QuickBooks, you can start categorizing and matching them.

You can also follow the recommendation proposed by Fiat Lux - ASIA. You'll want to check for a third-party application that can help you with this one. Please check out the apps that are compatible with QuickBooks at this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home/. We can also do it in QBO by following the steps below:

  1. Go to Apps on the left side menu.
  2. Search for the app in the Find apps to streamline your work field.
  3. Look for the app that can help you connect your M&T bank  into QBO.

Any questions about integrating the app into your Online account are best handled by the third-party app provider. Feel free to visit our Banking page for more insights about managing your bank feeds and reconciling accounts.

If you have other questions about adding your bank account, just post them here as a reply. I'll answer them for you. Have a good one!

My thoughts exactly. Just because a bank is supported doesn't necessarily means it works without any issues with QBO.  I have two banks connected and now neither of them are working without issues.  It would be great to not have to spend time trying to troubleshoot these problems.

When I try that it gives me this NON-information... What does this mean?

"Start a free trial to see your transactions in QuickBooks

We'd love to let you connect your bank in this sample company, but it wouldn't have the bank-level security we provide in a real QuickBooks company. To securely connect your bank, Start A Free Trial."

Will I be able to connect my bank?
IrizA

I'll help you connect your bank account, sybanshee.

Yes, you can connect your bank if it's a supported bank. If not, you can request support for your bank.
To get started, you can start or use a free trial account to test or check if QuickBooks support your financial institution.

Once log in to the free trial account, you can follow the steps below.

Here's how:

  1. On the left navigation panel, go to Bookkeeping. Then click Transactions
  2. In the Bank Transactions tab, click Link Account at the top right of your screen.
  3. Type your bank in the search bar. Then click that.
  4. Enter your Sign info in the Login and Password fields. Then click Continue.
  5.  Select the account that you want to connect and date to pull transactions from the dropdown ▼. Then, select Next.
  6. In the Account Type dropdown, select Bank
  7. In Detail Type, select Savings or Checking
  8. Give the account a name and then select Save and Close.

If you're bank isn't supported, you can reach out to your financial institution to request support to them. Then, manually upload your transactions to bring them into the program for the meantime. Another option is to explore other third-party apps to help you achieve the task.

You can use these articles as your guide to manage your transactions:
