Hi there, @thea-cocarwashse. I'll help you get this fix so you can go back on track.
Let's begin by unmatching the transaction to which you linked the receipt and match it again.
For visual reference, you can refer on the screenshot below.
When uploading a receipt and attaching it to a transaction, you'll see the thumbnail of the receipt that you uploaded below the Receipt column.
You can also open the transaction itself, and then on the bottom part of the transaction, you'll see an attachment box. You should be able to see the name of the image that you've attached.

If the issue persists, we can isolate it by performing basic browser troubleshooting. Try accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. To open an incognito window in any supported browser, use the following shortcut keys:
Once logged in, try to perform what you were trying to do earlier. If it works, clear your browser. This way, you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also consider using other supported browser.
Additionally, I'll be adding these articles to help you in the future:

Sadly the private/incognito mode didn't work either. I tried it with a few receipts and haven't had any luck.
Thanks for getting back to us, @thea-cocarwashse.
You'll want to double-check if receipts were successfully uploaded. Since you aren't seeing them on the Banking page, you can forward again those receipts on a web browser.
Here's how:
You can also email your receipt or bill to QuickBooks Online. We’ll extract info from it and create a transaction for you to review.
Then, you can categorize and match bank transactions after uploading receipts.
You may also check with your boss if you still have access to the Receipts or Banking tab. That way, you can ensure that you see those uploaded receipts.
Keep me posted if you have additional questions about those uploaded receipts. I'll be right here to guide you.
That's how I uploaded them, but each individual transaction doesn't have an attached receipt. The only way for me to see the receipts is Transactions>Receipts then I can see the thumbnail of the receipts that I have successfully matched to the transactions. I can't make the receipt any larger, open it from there, or if I select the transaction it does not show as attached. I tried doing this on a private browser as well and have the same results....
I want to ensure this will be taken care of, @thea-cocarwashse.
To further verify the root cause of the issue, I recommend reaching out to our Customer Care team. Once connected, you can request a screen sharing session so they can check your set up. They can also provide a different way on how you can make the receipt show on the Attachment field of the transaction.
Here's how:
You can also visit our Contact support page to know the time and day when our support is available.
I've also got here a compilation of QuickBooks how-to videos that you can open to further guide you in performing your accounting tasks.
I'll be always around here in the Community if you have any other questions about managing your receipts. Feel free to drop your comment below. Take care.
Similar issue...when I click on the link to view a matched receipt in the Banking tab of Transactions, I get an "explore" window off to the side where you can't even see the receipt anymore.
Stop making dumb enhancements. Just seeing the receipt in a new tab was fine. This new "Explore" function is not needed and worse, does not work.
So I went through 3 customer service reps until I found one who was amazing and bird-dogged this issue with me - the first two did not understand the problem and wanted me to go incognito. This is definitely not a user/browser issue. We spent 2 hours troubleshooting live with a developer only to be told in the end that this was a "feature" not a bug. Apparently they roll out these beta changes with no documentation to customers or customer service agents. Most often software providers have beta "features" are not opt in, but intuit prefers to make it more like a crap shoot for unsuspecting users. I was told that my case would be closed because since it was a beta "feature" they are testing, there is nothing to "fix". They said my only recourse was to used the feedback link to communicate my issues directly to the developers and hopefully they will fix it or abandon the test. I send feedback every day about my frustrations. The feedback link also doesn't work, you have to refresh the page and click the link a second time before it appears. The behavior of this "feature" is inconsistent. I have sent reports of the debugging on the browser, asked to opt out, no on is listening. Beta features need to be opt in and people need to be aware they are using them because then they can always turn them off if they don't work. It has been weeks and no improvement. TURN IT OFF
Same issue here- we are using uploaded receipts to create Bills which then show Attached in Banking view but the Bill shows no attachments in Bill Pay view. So our Treasurer needs to go search for (or re-upload) receipts to verify the details before paying. Horrible. Am I missing something or is this actually how this "feature" currently works?
I agree with SASAMN if this is a beta feature then it needs to be hidden/removed.
Hello, pjones13.
Yes, it will have an attachment in the Banking page because it was created from the uploaded receipts. When a transaction is added or matched, the attachment is automatically removed, which is why it is no longer visible in the Bill Pay screen.
I encourage you to submit your feedback to enhance this feature. Your suggestions will have a significant impact on future product enhancements.
Here's how:
You can also manually attach the receipt if you prefer. For a comprehensive guide, see this article: Add or delete attachments in QuickBooks Online.
In addition, you can also pay your bills with Online Bill Pay for faster transactions. Check out this resource for detailed information: Pay bills in Online Bill Pay.
